when idle...
when my car is on and im stopped, it idles at a tiny bit less than 500rpm. i have a TL-S... does anyone know what its supposed to idle at? im more than positive it is NOT 500 rpm. is there anything in the manual that says this?
i got my car back from the dealer and i had the idle problem that it would fluctuate and almost turn off. they replaced the IACV so now the car is fine except it jsut stays at a low idle.

I think it's 770 rpm's to be exact. (don't quote me on that though)
It's usually adjusted using an ODB II. I'm not sure if an aftermarket one will do it but the one the dealers has definately will.

I am not sure how it is on the CL, but usually on Honda's there is an Idle Adjustment screw on the TB to either elevate or lower the idle. Actually there is a screw that adjusts the idle on the TB b/c I have done it before. Ask your local Acura dealer to adjust it for you.

lol... this keeps getting better.
so i went to the dealer, i explained it to the service writer. he sent me to the tech that worked on my car. the tech asked the master tech or w/e and he said that its ok between 500 and 800 rpm.
im sick of this fucking dealership. is there somehow i can adjust this myself or can i just take it to any mechanic to do it?

no, the car is fine, it just idles low. no weird noises nor shaking or anything.

dammit
when you step on the gas, the car goes all the way to redline. since the tach is about 250 rpm below normal, will i be able to tell that it is 250 rpm below by the time it shifts into third if i were to floor it?
get what im saying?

If there is a consitent offset, yes. But it may just be that the slope and offset are a bit off.
Do you have access to a scan tool?? That will tell you the engine speed.
Also, if it were too low the ECU would set a idle too low DTC.
