When to get on the Car?

I just got my car friday---it now has 100 miles...I am sooo babying the car..i have not raised the RPM's over 4000---Is the 600 miles on the FAQ pretty acurate as far as when you can start to get on it? I am pretty much using the automatic ss mode all the time because I dont want to rev it high...I cant wait to start speeding... (within reason of course)--BTW--I am havoing no regrets with the SS and i am so glad I did not wait for the 6 speed and have to pay another 6-7000......I think a lot of people get a stick because automatics tend to be slow...0-60 in 6.5 or 0-60 in 6 flat(with a few hundred dollars in mods) is plenty fast for me

600 was followed by 'bout everyone.. You don't have to worry about some high revs, it's WOT that you want to stay away from.

I have almost 300 miles & have had no choice but to WOT a few times. I also have gone past 4K on the tach a few times too. Again really didn't have a choice. I also had it up to 100 once. Although it's leased so I'm not really concerned about it too much. I'm sure it will break in good. My trips are mostly HW at about 80MPH so anycar I will have trouble with breakin periods. My car before had a 600 mile break in too. I went on a 3000 mile road trip when I only had 15 miles on the car. I just got it, & the next day I took the trip. I had too.

Well....I waited 1K to open 'er up. I didn't go over 4000RPM's until about 900 miles. Just wanted to make sure. Doesn't hurt to be careful. I also, changed my oil at 1K miles.

getting off is the problem

... as in slowing down. Give the brakes/rotors time to work in. I would not be hard on the brakes too soon. After my first 1000 I quickely became a VTEC junkie. But, don't let the brakes pay the price. Allowing some extra room to slow down will help keep warped rotors away.

Wide Open Throttle. I said occasionally, don't make it standard practice or for extended periods of time. Just sorta work it into your driving habits.

WOT is obtained by pushing the pedal to the floor

I say leave the original oil in until your first scheculed maintainance (3750 or 7500). It is breakin oil.

Break-in oil is a big can of worms, just do a search on it.

My dealer had the first oil change at 3750. I did it myself and used a standard 5-20W (before I researched Mobil One). At 11250 I changed to Mobil One.

1st chage between 3000-4000 miles, I don't think it makes a difference.

That is what Acura recommends on regular oil. Opinions on oil brands/types and change intervals are plentiful.

Do whatever you feel is best. I use a Honda/Acura filter + Drain Plug washer + 5 qts. Mobil One 5-30 every 7500.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought its bad to use the SS mode before 600-1000 miles....

i gave my cls to 3500 miles and did the first time oil change and ready to rock and roll.give your cls a proper run-in...the engine will last longer with less noise and vibration in the future.
