Guys, since summer is done, when is everyone taking there rims off for the summer???

 

Don’t talk about such a HORRIBLE annual event.
I delay this detail as long as possible.
Usually the day before the first snow is predicted to fall.

There’s still plenty of snow-free time left yet this year.

Only 2 more weeks for me. I'm really not excited to see what my car looks like with the factory wheels back on.

 

in a few weeks... usually I take the rollers off in mid-October.

Before joining this forum I was not aware of this. We rarely have freezing weather and I never realized what it's like up North for drivers. If we have any ice, (maybe once every few years) basically the city shuts down, schools close early, people panic. We don't have many city services for ice and snow.

I don't know if I will. When I got the car it had 19's on it and I drove it to Vermont....no slippage. So we shall see. If it's really bad I'll change them or just use the beater. That's what it's there for.

 

Winter up north is MUCH better then the bad weather that YOU GUYS have been getting for the last two months.
Snow doesn’t generally remove the roof from your house or blow the entire structure off its foundation.

True that. I'd take 20 inches over 5 inches or rain and 150 mph winds. With 20 inches of snow, all you have to do is call out at work, sit back and watch TV.

Seeing threads like this make me appreciate our weather in CA. I feel for you guys in the east.

 

i leave the stockers on year round, i even use the same tires all season toyo proxes 4's

 

I leave my 19's on all year, I live in NC and we see a decent amount of snow, not like up north though, i dont have stock rims but if i did i think i would still keep the 19's on.

 

First week or 2nd week of november... Gonna wait till the first inch of snow arrives..... Aaahhh the oem wheel just dont do justice on the car....

I just wait till its either going to snow, its really cold, or the roads start getting bad.

Since that hasnt happened yet, I've still got plenty of time. In fact my new 19's should be in this week, and they are definitely going on the car until any of the above starts.

yeah mine are off in late november... the salt is a bitch round here...

michigan roads suck in the summer and get worse in the winter...

potholes galore....

so 19s wont make it....

 

i would have usually taken them off in December right before it snowed and put them back on in late March

 

I change right after Thanksgiving (late November).

If there is a big snow storm before that I use my wife's A6 quattro.

I'll take mine off as soon as the first snow/salt comes out.
