Wheel Spacer Question

Wheel Spacer Question
Anyone else running wheel spacers on their cars? Just talked to a guy at a custom shop who told me to be careful buying them and to get a good quality brand. His were not, and they flexed and cracked and his wheel came off while driving...
Anyone have any recommendations of brands to pursue or stay away from?

They may be pricey for you; however, they will fit and they are made in the U.S.

I'm running Ichiba V2 spacers. Been a few years with no problems. Make sure the spacers you get are hubcentric and so are your wheels. This way minimizes wheel vibrations and evenly distributes the wheel's load on the hub and lugs rather then just the lugs.
Are you getting spacers for your XXR wheels?

Anzboi-
I doing the RL Brake Caliper upgrade. My XXR's are 33+ offset and still is about 8mm shy of clearing. I got my RL bracket for Fast Brakes and they sent me a hubcentric ring for my hub so the rotor fits evenly.
Do I still need a hubcentric spacer?

Well that means your rotor is centered. You still need to center your spacer so that the wheel attaching to the spacer will be centered.
On my spacer, I have it centered to 64.1 (Honda spec) then I'm running hubcentric rings on my wheels to make it hubcentric to 64.1
Do you have a lip on your wheels? +33 should clear the BBK unless your wheels are really concave. I'm +35 with my spacers and I'm already rubbing in the front. I'm running 235/40/18 tires though. +25 will make your front wheels look stupid poked and you'll rub like crazy.

Gotcha!
But yea my wheels are pretty concave.. I'm riding on 225/45/18.. but no not much lip at all actually.
Yea I need about 10mm spacer to clear the brake and its going to push my wheels pretty fricking close to my fenders but I have had them rolled so hopefully that will help.
Question about your BBK.. did you have an issue with the caliper rubbing on the rotor? It looking I am going to need to shave some of the caliper down to get everything to rotate without touching.. is this normal?

Everything should fit great. I had to bend my brake dust shield back but that's it. No rubbing or anything. Make sure you have the nuts and washers installed correctly. I think it goes bracket, caliper, washer then nut when installing the caliper.
I don't remember the bracket installation but nothing should rub when it's all done. I did one time mess up and my rotor made contact with my caliper. It was because I placed the washer on the wrong side when installing the bracket. This made my caliper contact the front of my rotor.

Maybe get new wheels? A smaller size tire would help too, maybe 215/45/18.

Im going to have tyo go back and double check that I had the washers and nuts in the right place. I am getting contact in the front of my rotor right now so that might be it.
But as for the wheels.. I know! Unfortunately I don't have the have the cash to change them.. I thought the size and the off set would do the trick, and with my stock calipers on there, there is room for days! But damn these things are huge lol
I have heard that some times there is a clearance issue with the rotor so some people shave a little bit of the caliper off.. That might be the only option I have if the parts are installed correctly and its still touching

Yea, just check the washers. That was my problem. I didn't notice and scraped up the front of my rotors pretty bad from the contact between my rotor and caliper. It should look even with the space between the front and back of the rotor and the caliper so if just the front of the rotors are contacting, then you probably did what I did.

I ran some 18x8 +35 wheels without the need for spacers. They had no lip either but they rubbed on the front fender on big bumps.
My other set of wheels are 18x8.5 TL aspecs and they fit great. At +45, there's no rubbing issues.
