i was just curious so i measued mine for the past 3 tanks i averaged 17 twice and 19 once, the thing is that 30-40% of my driving is on the hiughway i thought my avg would be higher, if i did all city driving i think it would be around 14-15 mpg:o

I get anywhere from 22-25mph depending on how I drive. My commute is about 40 miles each way and is 85% highway.

When going on long highway commutes (like visiting my buddy in RI) I usually get around 28-30mpg....

that might help. i was thinkin, its about 14 mpg, which isnt really low teens, but its lower than i would have expected. i guess i do alot of accellerating then alot of stopping, i hate my commute to school. theres a nice 6 mile stretch where you can go as fast as you want, then theres a 5 mile stretch where youre lucky if you reach 15 mph, and alot of traffic lights.

Wow that's low.. I've been averaging 22-23mpg with my Z. It's about 65% highway driving, but I've actually had excellent results with more city driving (~20mpg).

I drove to Albany not too long ago and on the trip computer, my average mpg was 28.1 for the entire trip (all highway)

I am 100% city, driving 8 miles one way with a stop light every block basically. So I'm not all that surprised.

I've gone on the highway and gotten 27mpg, so I'm not too concerned.

Low twentys (but I'm heavy on the gas).

I've gotten a high of 26 for a highway trip (200 miles).

I get 23-24mpg normally and that is about 60/40 highway/city. On long highway trips I'll get 26-30mpg.

What are you guys talking about with summer and winter gas? I feel like I am missing something here....I always put super (93 octane) in.

In New York from October 1 throungh April 1 they put MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether ) in with the gas to cut down on the green house gases. But it kills your gas mileage.

This is a link for what they say it does
http://www.epa.gov/mtbe/gas.htm

On January 1st of next year they will switch to Ethanol. Which we will have to see what it does to gas mileage.
