What's the highest speed you've ever triggered ABS?

I just hit it at 80
I was doing 80 in traffic light zone and my asshole roommate that I was racing pulled in front and so I ABSed all the way to a halt. It took me about 120 feet or so. It squeaked a bit though.

I locked my brakes ( tires squealed like a dragon ) slowing from 80-85 to 45-50 and that was on dry pavment, riding my snow tires... ( wished I had my Nittos )
Can I say Oh Shit?... Wide Open Eyes... My mind froze anticipating a crash and gladly my CLS kept its posture and slowed just in time... I was closing fast.... and the only thing that saved me was the enough safety distance I usually keep with the car in front me...
CLS is heavy car and It slows:
From 60-0 and it needs 124 ft. That is at least 8 car length..
From 80-0 and it needs 234 ft. That is at least 16 car length.
I wished we could brake from 60 to 0 in some 100 ft.
and from 80 to 0 in some 160 ft...
the CLS brakes are WEAK!!!

A another mindless driver tried cutting in front of me when I was going 80.. I slammed the brakes, car broke to the right and the VSA and ABS kicked in, pulled the car to the left then had me going staight again. Good ass shit!

Brakes and suspension. If you had active body control to help nose dive you'd improve braking.

BTW, you do not feel the ABS pumping at high speed... Or at least this what happend to me.
On the other hand, still for a car the size, weight, performance of the CLS, the stock brake setup is marginally adquate for the originaly targeted CLS markets.. (45+ year old. single, income in $60k+, drives like a ma)
However, let the CLS in hand of some hot-blooded young drivers... and you will be asking too much from the stock brakes.
I did not mention brakes fade and other issue like rotor wrappage...
I wished those brakes got some attention with the 03 model but it did not... too bad...
My next car is in the S4/M3 territory, do you listen Acura?
