What's a good OBD-II scanner?

Something of good value. Not a $300 scanner.

if you have a laptop, digimoto is good. i use it personally.


autoenginuity i heard is nice also.

I use this one:

they make cheaper and more expensive ones.

Should I buck up and get a CAN compatible scanner?

Yes if you plan on getting a newer car in the future and wish to use it then. All cars will be/are forced to go CAN.

Making an assumption here, but if you have a laptop, the laptop connection and software (digimoto) is far superior to a standalone OBD module right?
