why not check on a subaru board.... i-club.com maybe? Would a used one be so bad? A buddy of mine got a used EVO for $23k with 5k miles on it. Some student had it and had to sell it fast as he was leaving the country. Maybe you can find a good deal on a used one.

Well, they are advertising the whole line with a 1.9% or $750 off so you might do as good as that or a little better.

I paid invoice $29,215 (about $2k off give or take)......got invoice on the dealer installed crap as well.

If you really shop around, you might be able to get slightly under invoice.

I hear it's easier to find great deals on STis back east than it is on the west coast. Probably more demand out here.

well there are only 2 subie dealers in all of LA, one in santa monica and in Van Nuys.

So its kinda hard to "shop around" for one.

You should be able to get one for invoice or a little over along the east coast. They are sitting on lots here now that the novelty has worn off a little bit. Shop around and be willing to drive a bit to get one and you will save a good amount of cash.

No, they are starting to sit around like most cars do after they have been out for almost a year. Not to mention, they aren't for everyone being that its a $31k Subaru which isn't exactly the most conservative looking thing on the road.

Also, you will always have those people who want the car but can't afford it.

http://www.cars101.com is a Subaru dealer in Washington that lists all the invoice prices on Subarus and their accessories. He also lists all the current rebates and incentives.

In my short shopping experinece with Subaru it was not hard to find a dealer that was willing to sell at 1% above invoice. A lot of folks get their Subarus at or below invoice with minimal haggling.

In New England, Subaru of America is not the distributor, instead the dealerships are overseen by Subaru of New England, and in New York and Northern New Jersey they're distributed by Subaru Distributers, Inc. Translated to the customer this means slightly different destination charges, and maybe a difference in haggling ability (Subaru dealers like to do dealer trades for cars and they don't seem to dealer trade across the different distributorships).

Not really. Irvine Subaru, South Coast Subaru, Renick in Fullerton, Thousand Oaks Subaru, Timmons in Long Beach, to name a few. Big Valley in Van Nuys is a big rip off and their sales people know nothing about the cars they sell. If I were in the market, I'd make an invoice offer to the internet sales dept. for each of the So Cal dealers and see if any would be willing to match. Irvine, South Coast and Renick seem to give the best deals. BTW, the last time I went to Irvine Subaru, they had a bunch of STi's on their lot.

BTW, if you want to save a bunch of money, I hear the Forester XT's are going for close to invoice.

Trust me, based on the attention the car gets.....people well over the age of 18 drool over the car.

When you buy an STi, take the fucking spoiler off if you don't like it. In the meantime, go fly a kite.

Agreed. I think most people can tell that spoiler is no 'add-on' part...Not like it's a neon with a 4 ft aluminum wing.
