Whats the best mod to get? Comptech Clutch/flywheel kit or Underdrive pulley??
I know i can't take both... it would be a disaster..
So? Whats the best mod to get?
Flywheel/Clutch:
Much better flywheel and clutch then oem
Good weight reduction in the front of the car (25lbs)?
Car responds better during accelleration
Dosent add any HP,
Pricey
Underdrive pulley:
Adds maybe 5 to 8 whp
Small weight reduction (5lbs)
Inexpensive

Why not?????????
I went with a Light weight G60 Flywheel and VR6 clutch in my 1.8T Jetta and loved it. Reved much quiker, and made full boost a bit earlier than normal.
I have the Option Racing Crank pulley on my CLS now and like it. Seems to pull better in the lower RPM range. Less pedal to get going too.
For you I'd say go with both. You can afford it if you are considering the Flywheel. The Option Racing pulley is like $24.00 Shipped. Going both will maximize you gains. I think they would complement each other well.

But I don't see anything about using the Crank pulley and light weight flywheel together. Why would that be a bad combo.
Seems like all that thread would do is answer you original question about the flywheel. Does'nt seem to have anthing to do with the both of them being used at the same time.

Doing both is flirting with disaster.

That would be awfully hard to figure out! I'll bet it was just speculation! There are so many other contributing factors.
Good luck, either way you go!
