What?! What to Journalists smoke?!

Quoted from Yahoo Cars...

"2003 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra
The 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra is a 2-door, 4-passenger luxury sports car, or convertible sports car, available in 4 trims, ranging from the Coupe - 300A to the 10th Anniversary Convertible -- 375A. The 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra's closest competitors include the Acura 3.2 CL, the Mazda RX-8, and the Volvo C70. "

I was just bored and searching google for some retarded keywords... I read through this summary on Yahoo cars... The 2003 Cobra's closest competition is the acura 3.2 cl?

Is that a joke? First of all, the CL is NO WHERE CLOSE TO THE COBRA IN QUALITY!

The Cobra is put together with the quality of a v6 mustang... No difference. It rattles just like the 14k model. There is nothing luxury about a Cobra.. It's loud, it doesnt have a cruising suspension, and it is NOT plush. The CL wins hands down. The CL is luxurious, wood and leather interior, automatic everything, bose audio, etc...

However, the Cobra has absolutely brutal power. It's acceleration is unmatched for twice the price.

Can someone please tell me how these two cars are competition? When you bought your CL were you also in the market for a Cobra?

I wouldn't say a cobra is luxury, but neither is a CL. Near luxury maybe. And the CL also rattles like crazy.

Totally disagree with you about Cobra build quality, that is one solid car.

Front: Modified MacPherson strut system with gas-charged Bilstein™ monotube dampeners and separate 600 lb/in (500 lb/in on convertible) spring on lower arm, 29mm tubular stabilizer bar

Rear: Multi-link independent system, cast iron upper control arm, aluminum lower control arm, fixed toe-control tie rod, aluminum spindle, gas-charged Bilstein™ monotube shock absorber, 600 lb/in (470 lb/in on convertible) coil spring, 26mm tubular stabilizer bar

Do you own an 03 Cobra?

Nothing about it is solid. The Bilstiens make it sit real nice while it's parked at the dealer waiting to be worked on.

By the way, when you sit in a CL the seats sooth you into place. The ignition brings the car to life with a soft pur. The gauging and dash are suitable, up scale even. It is a welcome change from the Cobra.

The Cobra is noisy, but worth it. The seats hold you in, but not in the comfortable soothing sense, in the sense that you'd better hold on because this thing can corner...

They are two COMPLETELY different cars. The Cobra is suited for weekend races, (autox, drag, open road courses), it can FLY down the track in the 12's, you can hit your head on the window pulling hard turns, and can sink your eyeballs into your head at triple digit speeds...

The Acura? None of the above. You can cruise to Gramma's house and run a marathon after you get there. Acura CL's arent meant to be raced and Cobra's arent meant to be pussy footed around town.

not too solid here either.

I like my cls and everything but it is not a luxury car and it is not rattle free. The wood is cheap plastic stickers and the Bose is (was) terrible. The dash is plain and boring.

Yes, it is more of a luxury car than a cobra, and no they are not competitors.

if you don't like your cobra I'll trade you a cls for it.

I don't know about the Cobra (390 hp??), but the regular GT is on par weight wise and hp wise w/ a CLS. The biggest difference being that one is RWD and the other is FWD.

My last car was a 94 V8 Tbird, so I did look into the GT when I was looking for a new car. Couldn't see buying a mustang with the retro mustang right around the corner tho'.

How does his opinion make anything true?

In my opinion the dash, especially with the Navi, is definitely not boring. I love the silver gauges.

Now I’m coming from a complete Alpine system in my old car to the Bose in this one and while its not that great I think its fine for a STOCK stereo.

Fortunately not one rattle here so far. Also I have the silver trim in my car and I think it looks and feels just fine.

And he's right the CL isn't a luxury car; it’s an entry luxury one.
