What a way to start the 4th...
July 4th @ 8:45AM, im cruisin with my father and brother headin to the golf course when all of a sudden LASER hit on V1...too late
...couldn't see him cuz he was perched up on a hill looking down at me
noone around cept for me and the smokey...62 in a 45...gives me the ticket that reads "driving in excess of posted speed" but didn't put the speed in the box on purpose...says when i go to court they'll knock it down and sh!t...question i have is will they knock it down to something like a broken tail light that's non-moving violation??? or will it have to stay as a moving violation and b like an illegal U-turn or something???
im also a bit worried b/c this is the 2nd time in a year period i've been nailed for speeding...1st time was Aug 10th of 2002 supposedly doing 87 in a 55 on the Long Island Expy. i have yet to get a court date since i pleaded not guilty...kinda ironic tho, cuz my court date for this latest ticket is this Aug 10th
any help on either ticket would b appreciated

Try to work out a deal with the cop before you face the judge.
My last speeding ticket was with my M3. A State Trooper nailed me for speeding (64 in a 45), changing lanes without signaling and no front plate. Yep, got 3 tickets in one shot.
What the fucker didn't see was that some dickbag was in the exit lane and suddenly decided that he didn't want to get off on that exit, so he cut me off, forcing me into the lane to my left. I had no time to signal, I was too busy trying to avoid an accident. Of course I was pissed, so I pretty much just floored it to get ahead of the idiots on the road. That's when the cop nabbed me. He read me the riot act and gave me 3 tickets.
After reading the tickets, I realized that he made a mistake about the speed. We were in a 55 mph zone, not 45 mph, so I sent the ticket in pleading not guilty. I did plead guilty to the no front plate ticket though....
To make a long story short(er), when I met the Trooper in court, I explained to him that the speed limit was 55, not 44 as he wrote, so I was really going less than 10 mph over the limit. Then I explained why I abruptly changed lanes. Then he asked me if I had a plate on front of my car, and I told him no and that I plead guilty to that one.
Well, he offered to sqaush all 3 tickets (including the no front plate), if I plead guilty to a "rules of the road" violation. I asked him what that meant exactly, and he said it was a general "non-moving violation" ticket that wouldn't give me any points on my license. Simply pay the fine and forget about it.
Fine was $75 plus a $35 court surcharge. A mere bag of shells to keep my license sparking clean
I would suggest you ask the cop for a "rules of the road" violation.

I was just thinking.... If the cop didn't write the speed on the ticket, then how the hell are they gonna knock it down in court?
How would they know how much over the posted speed limit you were going?
That's some stupid shit...... I hope the cop keeps notes on all his tickets

i know that new york state law is 3 moving violatons and your liscense is revoked for 6 months. i got a letter in the mail a few weeks ago that said "please turn your liscense in or there will be a warrent for your arrest" its bullshit. I got the tickets 8/01 2/02 6/02 and got this letter a year later. i had to quit my job cause i had no way to get there
hmmmm well i was wearing my sunglasses at the time, so maybe when i go there, i'll find him and ask "y did u give me a ticket when i was going only 7 over the limit?" as opposed to 17
i seriously doubt he'll remember me...and i'll make sure to park in the next zip code so he won't see the car and possibly think back
