CLP? Mid to high 16's is my guess! I highly doubt low 15's.

You are in the high 14's for sure. TL-P's are good for low-mid 15's stock with the 5AT. With your mods I wouldn't doubt a 14.8-14.9@93MPH or so.

Mid- high 16's lol. Give him some credit. The only acura running those slow times would be a 2.2 CL or 2.3 CL.

well just finished run number one, smoked a v6 accord
15.1 @ 92 mph, lots of wheel hop, I really think I can get under 15 next run. They have me paired against a vr6 jetta, I'll post results after the race

I dont have a scanner handy to thrown down my time slp but I will here in a few days once I get back to work

I ran two more times today and they were
14.9 @ 93 MPH-smoked my friend in a jetta vr6
15.1@91 MPH-got smoked by a 13 second civic

these times made me really happy, I think with a little more tuning I could be in the 14's steady.

Great times. Limit that wheel hop, illiminate all weight that you can, ice down intake, front tires 25 rear 35 or more. Keep us posted.

That's about right, with those mods I'd imagine your car to be about as fast as a 2nd gen CL-S/TL-S 5AT. I think you can cut another tenth or so if you keep practicing.

nice times - I think you have all of the cheap mods covered. Next step I'm thinking would be the P2R parts and a neo....but I bet you already knew that.

Don't forget innovative motor mounts, they help elimintate wheel hop.

Thats like $1400.00 rigth there. Just in P2r parts not to mention the Neo at like $300. Then to pay to tune it. How much power do you think it will add?

Welll after just sticking my foot in my mouth I found out the 4'' intake and TB spacer W/ Gaskets are only 399.

So that would $1000.00 or so in P2R parts.

But still with all that what do you think you could get from that. 20 to 25 HP maybe?

to the wheels maybe give or take. but In a CL-S 6MT will put you at a respectable amount of power to the wheels, assuming w/ rest of the N/A mods... that would leave CL6 sitting at right under 300whp, which IMO isn't too bad for 1k spent in P2R parts. considering supporting them as they continue to push aftermarket parts for the J series cause no one else bothers too. P2R... whether it's worth it to other's, that's purely in the eyes of the beholder and dependent on your intentions with the car, just letting him know what they meant by P2R

The legendary CL-P. its the same car except intake manifold and IMRC in Type-S which are good for another 35HP! [and not to mention VSA vs TCS and VTEC in CL-P =4400 vs 4800rpm in type-s].

I only know bout comptech, but Headers/CAI add 35Wheelhp to a type-s and 25Wheelhp to a P. he's got pullies also which we'll call 5Whp for argument sake.

starting at 170Whp stock +30 [from ^], he's at 200Whp.

for argument sake, we'll say he's at about 195Whp which OMG, is about as much as a stock type-s.

so money well spent and spend a little more to reduce wheel hop, and you'll be much quicker!

really?! thats almost as much as headers and if you saw those #'s on a dyno, mostly likely that what the Type-s gets. like i just said above, the main difference in the J32A1 engine in the CL-P is the intake manifold, so would a TB spacer and intake make those #'s on a P?? any knowledge on this anyone? IM looking for more power myself...im only Comptech H/CAI for now on my P.

[i was looking to upgrade to a '03 6speed S/C to 300Whp but i believe that just fell through so im sticking to my baby most likely].

I'm pretty sure the CL-P the vtec hits at 5500 rpms ,and for the type-s its at 4800.

Nope. CL-P hits it at 4400. CleanCL recently confirmed that in a thread. The CL-P can't make as much power in the top end as the S so it hits VTEC first.

i was looking for where i read that...also, after i foudn that out, i would always look at the tach at 4000+rpm when i was SS in 2nd...and there is a noticeable jump a little over the 4,250rpm mark...plus my CAI comes alive with sound!

5500 is where our 225max HP comes on the dynograph.

yeah the dyno was done on a CL6... that was my point the P2R mods on a 6 given the CLS6 has a decent power platform could be a realistic near 300whp n/a. it would sit right below that mark maybe 280ish. at the end of the day CLS6 owns the cl-p big time. but back on topic the P2R 4" intake with TB spacer did dyno I believe 10hp better than competitor intakes. so if you were running an AEM CAI it might be worth buying the 4" intake w/ tb spacer and thermal gaskets for $400.00 and sell the AEM CAI for 200ish and essentially only come out out of pocket 200. That's what I plan on doin.

Type -S has the trick intake plus higher compression and a slightly larger intake valve, and a lower back pressure exhaust system. Sum is 35 additional horsepower.

I agree

I could not see where a intake manifold alone would make 35 HP. I was just looking to see what the Comp was. CLS is 10.5 to 1 and the CLP is 9.8 to 1. I think that plays a huge diff in power.

But it sounds like you got your CLP running pretty damn good with thoes times!
Nice job!
