what oil have you guys been using?

All the oil experts opine that changing syn oil every 3000 miles/3 months is overkill and the syn is good for 5000 miles or 6 months at a minimum. It's the whole point of syn oil. My old Honda dealer said they never had an oil related engine failure in the 20 years he had a Honda dealership using regular oil. Rather spend my $$$ elsewhere. I use Honda Oil (exxon?) 5W30 every 3-5000 miles or 5 months since I do a lot of short trips. Don't put a whole lot miles on her.

I think I can pipe in on this one. '00 TL 193K miles driven hard all I want, still uses no oil, Mobil 1 5W 30 or Amsoil 5W 30 changed every 6K miles with Wix filter. I give alot of credit to the engine and Honda's engineering too. ALWAYS used a nice easy warmup...no VTEC stuff for at least twenty minutes. Engine has I/H/E/P and is still Smooooooth! Car was just sold to my bro and now I have a CL-S.

Mobil one 5w30 every 2500 miles. valvoline oil filter(wix makes them). we use valvoline oil at my work so the filters are damn cheap . my oil is clean as it was when the car was brand new. 70.000 miles now.

It has been proven time and time again with hard evidence that the distinction between changing your synthetic oil @ 3K or 7.5K is little or none, as per each oil analysis.
Unless the car is FI, chaning oil <5000 with synthetic is useless, and dino oil might as well be used. Save the $$$.
My girlfriend's 91 Civic has 250K miles on it and has been using synthetic since day one, wix oil filter, and changed every 7500. The previous oil analysis at 210-225K has no indication of abnormal wear or deposits. It runs just like new.

I'll chime in although oil threads usually annoy me more then help.
I use Mobil 1 5W20 in the CL and 5W30 in the Suby and change each every six months regardless of mileage. The Acura gets a Purolator PureOne filter and the Suby gets an OEM filter (made by Purolator too).
I put 10K or less miles per year (something like that), so I think I'm right on target with respect to what is written in the owner's manual.

I changed my oil today and I must have tightened the damn oil filter too tight last time cuz it was a bitch to remove! I had to use the oil-filter tool and it actually made a hole in the filter before the damn thing started unsrewing!! This time I didn't tighten it that much
Car felt pretty good tonight... it always likes new oil!

Cleaning the filter too often will actually allow the oil and debris to get into the engine more easily.

I use M1 0-w20 or 5-w20, depending on what is available. Filters, I have been changing between KN or Purolator.
I change anywhere from 5-10k miles, depending on how my miles occur, mostly highway I don't think twice about going closer to 10k. I also drive about 2k miles a month regularly, if not more.

We're a bunch of car enthusiasts so we have no issue on spending somewhat more for a premium product. Will the conventional product get you the same results? Most likely.
Just be sure to follow the manufacturer's recommendation in the owner's manual.
As I've said before, oil threads seem to follow a religious zeal where many fail to look at actual data. Will an otherwise properly maintained engine fail because someone used dino oil rather then synthetic?

Personally I find a difference between Royal Purple and any other 'conventional' synthetic I have used! Conventional list includes Castrol, Mobil, Havoline, Penzoil. Have not tried Quaker State yet... I won't spring the $$$ for Redline
