what mileage you guyz getting
So I have always wondered how good/bad my car is on the mileage. Never in my 6-7 years of driving have I calculated my MPG. Today I did.
I drove from Mississauga to Sudbury. 410kms/254miles and only used 34.5 liters/9gallons (aprox)
which is 28mpg
Now I had 4 people in the car and the trunk would barely close cause it was jam packed. And I had winter tires on the rear of the car which didn't help.
All in all I think this is good mileage. I could have gotten 30mpg i think with just me and my summers on the car.
Mind you its not that flat of a drive at ALL. so all things considered I think the car's right up there with efficiency.
What MPG are you guys experiencing?

Yeah the last two fillups I had I got around 20mpg. I'll admit sometimes I feel like just punching it when traffic on the interstate is clear. I'm sure if I drove a little more sensible I'd get closer to maybe 25-26 mpg.
I'm sure it'd be more during the summer, less time I need to spend warming the car up, and I hear most everyone gets bad mileage during the winter, since additives are put in the fuel during this season.

I average around 26mpg. The best I got was 32mpg at 85mph in the summer with the ac on.
BTW, running stickier tires will not get you better gas mileage. You will actually get worse mileage because there is more rolling resistance.

MPG IDK, but I get about 260 when my light comes on consistently normal driving. If I drive more HW I get closer to 300.
I normally fill up with 15-16 gallons.
This has been the same with the 3 CL's I owned.

ur 19.. when i was ur age I would have probably got the same mileage.
It seem 6speeders are getting on avg worse gas mileage.
I wonder if it's cause it's stick and most ppl drive it "harder", or it actually gets worse mileage. how i dunno why.
still tho 15-17mpg is bad... you gotta lose the lead foot one day... you could have many more mods if u got 5-7mpg more if you sat down and did the math

Sitting at an average 20.8 mpg since I got the '03. Majority of my driving is the 7 stop and go miles to work. Takes 20 minutes. I love Atlanta.
I used to get better mileage with my '01–around 25-27mpg–but I was doing mostly long highway hauls then.

Yes what Civic said. If drivin the same as an auto, the 6-Speed gets better mileage.
But i seriously have alot of trouble driving the speed limit in this car.
Also, i have heard rumors that the CL-S 6-Speed actually gets better gas mileage than the CL-P.

a manual theoretically has to get better mileage as the trans takes away less power therefore there is more power (with less gas), and therefore if you give it the same amount of gas. You should be getting better mileage... especially since u got 6 gears also, that should help

Yes and no.
Newer automatic trannies (especially 6AT and DSG trannies) will match, if not better a manual transmissions gas mileage.
Transmission computers have come a long way over the past 10 years. They have been programmed to give better gas mileage as well as performance over previous generations.
Gearing also has alot to do with. What I do find odd however is the 6 speed revs higher on the highway (IIRC 70mph in the 5AT is around 2100rpms while 70 in the 6MT is ~2500rpms).
Then again, all of my Hondas seemed to get better gas mileage when cruising higher up in the powerband. My Prelude would be at 4000rpm at 80mph and yet it still got 30mpg. My Civic would be at the same anf that regularly got 40mpg (I miss lightweight cars).
The few times I got 30mpg in the CL it was while doing 75+. All other times Im doing 65-70 Im getting around 27-28mpg.

I normally shift 1-3-5-6 and skip 2nd and 4th. Usually shift around 2-3k RPMs. Engine makes more then enough power to shift like that without any noticeable difference vs hitting every gear. Means better mileage, less clutch wear, and less jerky shifting. I still run it to redline plenty often and get that kinda mileage. Keep the car clean to decrease drag and keep up on maintenance.

17.1 x 3.78541178
= 64.73L
so a 65 L tank the CL has
I got 400kms off 35 liters so that means I can do 450 miles then that means
^ and I could have gotten better mileage without 4 ppl and a full trunk so i could do 500 miles at best

i average 23-24mpg, usually 52 miles a day on the highway. and thats with minimal spirited driving but enough of it. if i drive like an old man which i forced myself to do one time, i could get up to 27mpg.
I'd rather drive hard a few times per tank and have 24mpg than no fun and get 26-27mpg.
