I dynoed 319whp on a blown engine with 380 torque. I love this car.

And those strong numbers only tell half the story. All the weight reduction you've done gives you a tremendous advantage.

cant ignore your car round here Cocoa! nice numbers, i knew bout the swap didnt know the details tho...that thing is unique for sure!

coming from a CL-Per, i obviously even admire you 240+whp people, but i was more curious on the 300whp mark as that would mean 400HP motor, no real reason.

thanks for responses so far!

It amazes me how much more torque your motor generates on nitrous. I’m at 320whp and 280 lb/ft of torque. You’re putting down 100 lb/ft of torque more than me.

Well a 125 shot will do that also hes running a 3.5 not a 3.2 so all in all the extra 300cc and 125 shot give him an equivalent of ~15psi. Thats way more torque then what your standard 3.0" boost pulley will provide

Nitrous is pretty sick when you think about it

messing up ? the poster i quoted said why spend 10K on 300 whp for one second faster and unusable power because of the FWD platform , my response @ 260na whp(mustang dyno) was that at half that money mentioned it was 2sec faster , every bit as reliable as stock and able to launch very well ... i fully support 300whp n/a mark and think that its doable and usable

Yup. TypeR - I honestly have a ton of respect for what you've done with the 3.5L and considered going that route also. That's why I've got a set of forged JE pistons for a 3.5 build sitting in my garage.

My point is peak 300whp is not as important as real world results and usable horsepower and torque across the RPM range.

well my dyno of 257 was on a mustang dyno... some say a dyno jet might translate to as much as 275 , so how would i get 25 to 40 more hp ? minor head work would probablly have been the most aggressive part , and shave the heads at that time to get some more compression 12 ish to 1 , modify the headers using burns collectors , hi flow cat and or straight pipe along with the dual flow section from the RL exhaust , B pipe and cans , dry sump oil and electric water pump ... and a tune , thats about it i guess...

so true , area under the curve , and for that matter dyno doesnt really mean anything , take it to the track and put down a number ...that says it all in my book , and hey sorry for misunderstanding ur previous post and getting pissy

so area under the curve is an integral right? [versus derivative...] anyways, what does that translate to in terms of HP? does the area under the curve of a WHP to RPM graph translate to usable torque?

Not with just those mods you wouldn't.

a S/C'ed automatic can too

Good threads aren't as frequent as they used to be. Could be that most of the significant innovation has been done already.

What about that dude in TX rujuardo or somethin' like that. He had the started the CL with 500hp thread and got flamed and took off for a while.

I think that project was scrapped, but I thought I saw him on the Innovative motor mount thread.

yeah i hear this forum was way better before my time, but that was when there was so much to learn around here...

NOW every single time anyone posts, they get the "go and search" response b/c everything has been said around here...lets get over that fact.

noob: "hi im new, i own a cl, it is green and fast...oh and im new"
veteran who thinks they know everything: "search next time you fukcing asshole!"

...and yet people have still learned in this thread, hmmm...so it is just a stereotype...

you aren't scoring any imaginary rep points with me.

your reply isn't always true. There are a lot of people that give out good information and post hyper links to that information.

Most of the information has already been posted and discussed about. The most pertinent info is posted where noob's should look first in large, bold, and orange letters. It's not the moderator's fault the noob doesn't see that and then get flamed later after making a thread about "what intake is better."

its a lose lose situation and yet im the only one feeling like ive lost...
