What if...

the CL had the same power, features, etc., but was RWD, had an optional six-speed manual, and was priced the same as a BMW 330i, instead of thousands lower. Would you still buy it, or would you switch over to the Ultimate Driving Machine?

I personally would go with the CL, given the performance and reliability advantages, and the fact that BMW 3 series here in LA are getting to be as common as Camrys.

I'd NEVER get a BMW. I don;t want to be lables as a Yuppie Fu*k!

But, Really, I would nevre buy a BMW. I don't like the new style. Hate the rear end of the 330i

M3, now that's a different story

I think i would definitely go with the CL. Your right about how bmw's are getting common, but CL's are still not that noticed.

Nope, I wouldn’t have bought the CL or the BMW in your scenario.
I need front or all wheel drive to survive in the winter.

I would still be driving my 91 Legend Coupe or maybe a Toyota Solara or Honda Accord.

I would not buy the modified cl you mentioned.

I wanted FWD, or maybe would take an AWD.
I also wanted automatic. (got tired of a previous manual tranny)

I also wanted to stay just under $30,000.

I liked the CLS over the Bimmer for many of the same reasons;
-Front wheel drive
-Mid size
-SS auto
-260hp
-After market part options
-price

Tuff package to beat....

Have you ever driven a BMW? (I haven't personnaly) But If everything that C&D, Motortrend, and R&D say is true, The BMW is actually the "Ultimate Driving Machine".
All the things being equal as proposed, I probably would have bought the BMW. But, they are not so I got the better deal with the CL!
