What the hell are they for (Sway Bars, Strut Bars)?

I've decided my CLS has a little too much body roll. What is the difference between Sway bars and Strut Bars? Which should I get first?

I'm also changing out my Comptech Springs (for Sale if anyone wants them) for H&R OE Sport to give it a more even look. Do you think I'll have too much gap with 225/40/18s?

Thanks for you input.

Sway bars = less body roll when cornering
Strut bar= more responsive in steering

Would get sway bars first if you have to get one first.

Strut Tower Brace connects both strut towers to make the chassis more ridgid. That means less twisting under load.

Sway bars connect both suspensions and distributes power to the other side when side is under load. The general concept is trying to keep the suspension flat during cornering.

The most noticeable improvement will come from the sway bars (they go for about 300 dollars new for Comptech). STB is more for looks, as our cars come standard with a 4-point STB from the factory. It's plenty effective the way it is.

CT's are silver. There are no chrome sways, IMHO, it would be pointless as they get waaay dirty down there. Neuspeed STB are available in chrome.

You can't see them, anyway.

comptech sway bars and neuspeed strut tower bar.

You won't see them on the CL unless you get on your hands and knees

Spending extra cash for color is worthless.

Yes. The OE springs have the least aggressive drop of all aftermarket springs for our cars. H&R Sports or Eibach.

darrinb, from what i was told, coilovers give problems in time. u have? what i'll probably do is clamp my rear springs a little since i already have springs on.

passone, i would not want to refer you i went...i had two bad experiences there (i'm crazy for going back after the first time, but gave them another chance). now, a friend does everything to my ride. what kind of work u looking for?

Yeah, it's hard to find places that know what they're doing and care about what they're doing here in Miami. Depending on the type of work you're looking to get done, you may want to check out Rick Case Acura and see if you can work somethign out price-wise with them. They will be a bit on the expensive side, but what do you expect from an Acura dealer.

What do you mean by clamp? Cut? Altering specific spring-rate characteristics of a spring is.... :sqnteek:

I have the H&R Sport with 19's and I still think the gap is too big. I'd like to lower it about 1/2" or so more. I've seen a few people w/ the H&R Sport + Koni yellows and I think it looks about perfect.

they sell small clamps at the auto parts store for this purpose. you basically compress the spring a little to lower it as desired. i've done it before...inexpensive and simple...and much better than cutting/heating the spring.
