Definitely air boat, especially based on the dudes shirt - "Ferguson Waterworks." I certainly could be wrong though but that's where my money is at

Haha....yeah, that is my twin brother welding some crap.....I do most of the work on my CL-S at this shop where he is doing his project. the pictures are of his airboat that he completely rebuilt. The motor is a Contintental 0470 Aircraft engine with dual magneto's-this sucker is gonna fly!

Considering aircraft engines spin at about 2700rpm, whats the transmission going to look like?

No Tranny..it's direct drive...the prop bolts strait up to the crank.

I know a little about air boats. Look at my location. That is pretty hard corps to put a real aircraft engine on the Air Boat. That sucker should realy move. Cool

I don't know if the CL can handle that kind of torque considering its FWD nature. Torque steer and wheel spin I think would be a factor, but I could be wrong.

The H1 hummer is pretty similar. About 200hp with 500 lbs of torque (rough numbers, don't know the exact specs)

Pretty close.

195hp and 430 TQ. But is a big ass 6.5 V8 Turbo Diesel. It probably has 3x the displacment of the engine.

They are going to use the 5 A/T from the Cls and Tls of course.

Airboats don't require a tranny at all, but anyone who uses an automotive motor i.e. 350, 454 etc. needs a reduction gear since the crank spins too fast and it won't grab an adequate amount of air per prop blade. This sucker is bad, though! It has a 5 blade high-pitch carbon fiber prop- it will do 55 mph on 3 inches of water at 2,200 rpm! Yes, I am a Southerner...............and white, but I have dated a couple really hot Asian girls..LOL!

If he did, I would have left it open...

It's cool, and the biggest frigging aircooled engine I've ever seen...

But since this thread is not about a CL, it can't stay open here... and I can't move it to the off-topic forum...
