What happened to Intake install

What happened to the real good intake installations with pictures and stuff? There was a blue CL-S in the pics. Does anyone have good step by step instructions they post or e-mail me. I would really appreciate it! wms0578@aol.com

Do a search for Chod's Intake Install. It was a good install guide, but technically has you doing some incorrect steps (ie. metal tube from engine to intake pipe is NOT removed and is left there sticking out like a sore thumb...it should have been removed and replaced with a single line supplied by AEM)

Is this for AEM, Injen or Comptech?

Here's the icebox one:

Injen buy AEM will work too. I sold my intake to a fellow board member and I want to hook him up so he has a nice easy install. Thanks for your replies....

We have no control over links provided by previous or current members.

Chod's cold air intake install doesn't show proper routing of coolant hoses as mentioned earlier:

Here is a link that touches on the coolant hose issue:

Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product.
1) Getting started
a) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface.
b) Set parking brake.
c) Disconnect negative battery terminal.
d) If engine has run within the past two hours let it cool down.
2) Removing the stock air inlet system
a) Jack the front of the vehicle and support using properly rated jack stands.
b) Disconnect the breather hose from the air inlet tube.
c) Remove the valve cover breather hose assembly.
d) Disconnect the water bypass hose from throttle body or the fast idle thermo valve, where equipped, located at the lower portion of the throttle body. Disconnect the opposite side of the water bypass hose, which runs to either the intake manifold or the water outlet neck. Remove the entire water bypass hose and breather hose assembly from the vehicle.
e) Remove the upper stock air box assembly.
f) Remove the lower front splashguard.
g) Remove the front left tire and remove the inside splashguard (inner fender liner).
h) Remove the lower stock air box assembly.
i) Loosen and remove the air inlet tube from the traction control throttle body.
j) Remove the air box shield closest to the driver side of the vehicle.
k) Remove the support bracket which holds the shield in place.
3) Installing the cold air system
a) When installing the Cold Air Intake System, DO NOT completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting tab hardware until instructed to do so later in these instructions.
b) Install the connector hose and two hose clamps on the traction control throttle body end of the inlet pipe. That is the end closest to the breather nipple.
c) Install the pipe onto the traction control throttle body.
i) The support tab on the inlet pipe will line up with a threaded hole on the inner fender well. Install the rubber isolator mount and attach the air inlet tube onto the rubber mount. Install the large fender washer and the lock nut onto the isolator mount stud and snug it down. Failure to install the rubber mount will void all warranties of the Cold Air System. Below is a diagram of how the rubber mount should be installed.

d) Install the AEM filter on to the end of the inlet tube. Push the filter on around 2 inches over the inlet pipe and install one hose clamp to secure the filter on to the inlet pipe. Once fitment is checked, you can either push the filter on to the inlet pipe more or less depending on clearances.
e) Install the 23” section of 1/2" breather hose onto the valve cover breather nipple. Then slide this onto the nipple on lower portion of the inlet pipe. Install two 1” hose clamps to secure the breather hose. Note: some adjustment might be necessary in order for the breather hose to fit properly.
f) Slide the other breather hose onto the nipple on the backside of the inlet pipe. Note: some adjustment might be necessary in order for the breather hose to fit properly.
g) Connect the new supplied water bypass hose and clamps to the throttle body or the fast idle thermo valve, where equipped, and either the intake manifold or the water outlet neck disconnected earlier. Note: some adjustment might be necessary in order for the breather hose to fit properly.
h) Adjust the air inlet system for the best possible fit. Be sure that the pipe and filter are clear of any obstructions. Make sure that there is ample clearance around every component of the cold air system.
i) Tighten all remaining hose clamps and the nut on the rubber mount.
4) Re-assemble the vehicle
a) Install the left fender liner and the lower front splashguard. Failure to install the plastic splashguard will result in diminished performance and increase the potential for engine damage due to water ingestion in rainy conditions.
b) Install the front left wheel and lower the vehicle.
c) Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are properly tight.
d) Start engine and perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.
