What is the function of Cargo Net?
I believe the cargo net is in the trunk so that you can put things in front of it so that they don't slide everywhere while driving. I, personally, would get one if they had it for the 1st gen. I always have drinks and stuff back there that slides around...

I put my computer/ee books, reference manuals, etc along with some crystal geyser water packs in the net -- the stuff really stays put while driving around the canyons.
I highly recommend the net to anyone who likes to carry books or other mid sized items in the trunk. I really dislike the sound of objects flying around the trunk like guided missiles. The net is very easy to setup and very easy to remove. I only wish they could have made an option to add a second one (further in) (for rare occasions/additional storage).
The net sits towards the back of the truck of our CL-S, but don't load any VCRs or TVs into it (my opinion).

mine came with the car stock, its sits in the rear and has large black plastic knobs on either side of interior wall. net has multi length loops which attach to above knobs to adjust for different sized items. use it all the time, recommended!

The manual that came with my car doesn't have any pictures, but from playing around with it, I found that there are a whole bunch of configurations for it. One of my favorite ways is to use the 4 knobs in the floor (I had to push back the carpet from the holes)to kind of "strap down" things to the floor - it works great for those cases of beer!

The cargo net is not an option and most definitely is not a mod.
Mine came with one corner of the net looped at the left bottom in the rear most position, with the corresponding right corner looped at the right bottom in the rear most position. The top of the net has one corner looped on the upper left side rear most button, with the other loop on the corresponding button but over on the right side.
There, have you got that because I think this has gotten me loopy.

Cargo Net: is standard feature of each CLS as the summer carpet are also standard.
By the way, dodowolf, you ask questions as if you are 12 years old kid. Never ever in your life saw or heard about a cargo net?
You have very wierd questions.

Hey, does anyone leave the cargo net up. I've put it up a couple of times, but I was thinking of leaving it up. Any issues?

Nashua_Night_Hawk,
I have beening driving for only two years. I never seen any cargo net before. Envn if I know what it supposes to be used as, I still want to know more about that, and decide whether I need one. Anyway, thanks a lot for all the valuable information your supplied. I do appreciate it.

That's where I keep my terry towel, paper towels, california duster/ water blade/ dash duster and 1 gallon of spring water and tire spray and other handy stuff. It keeps the trunk clean and when ever I see like bird sh*t or other stuff on my car I run to my trunk and pour water on and wipe ot off w/ a paper towel and then dry it off w/ a terry towel.

1. I leave it up because I'd never be able to put it back up if I took it down.
It's also a convenient way to keep loose tennis balls and hand grenades from rolling around the trunk.

I use mine to hold cargo - (?)
I also use mine when I want to stop and trap small animals on the side of the road...I sneak up on them and throw the net over them like the Alligator Hunter!!

I didnt spend too much time mounting everything as I did it when it was a little too cold out...once it worked I just left it. I'll tidy things up in the spring. I'll probably remove the passthru sheet I made and mount everything in a custom enclosure to the left of the sub box. I'd like to have it so I can pull it all out without much fuss. As it is now, I can still get at the spare without removing anything.

That is what I love about you guys. I had to come to the forum to figure out that I had been told another whopper by the salesman.
When I was concluding the sale, the salesguy came in and said, "I'm going to throw in the mud guards, wheel locks, and cargo net."
That kind of like saying, "... I'm going to give you the key fob, the whole 260hp, and a ticket to allow you to drive out of here."
Did some of us get a "dummies" version of the owner's manual without cargo net pictures? I didn't even think about turning it upside down (as one of you guys suggested).
