Damn... when I showed those BMW pictures a few months ago I was in love.

So are you changing out your stock Bose stereo or just changing out the color for a different look? I've been looking for an after market replacement for a single DIN. I want to flush mount a Sony CDX-M750 on a glossed black wood panel. But after I took the dash pieces off around the stereo a lot of screws and tabs are located on the Bose 6-disc stock stereo and it looks like a b*tch to do a custom install.

Any ideas?

 

It's not as hard as you think to do a custom face plate. I'm doing a iso mount of two single din unit's. Eclipse 55060 and 5962 in dash 6disc changer. I'm removing the billfold holder and flush mounting my V1 remote display above the 2 decks. There will also be room for some auxillary switches(strobe's, and whatever else I add later. maybe boost controller for the SC).

Any pictures? How did you get the wood panels to attach back to the tabs where the stereo was. I've been looking for a replacement and build off it. What did you use for mounting the units inside. If I flush mount it I don't want it to move at all with the moving face plate.
