WTF??? She doesn't have an accent, she sounds asian.

It finds pretty much 95% of anything you'll ever need, like restaurants, schools, shopping stores, etc and it has all the phone numbers. You can zoom in and out, from 1/20th of a mile to a map of the whole U.S. with your location.

It can do A LOT! I don't know how I could ever live without it before I got the CL. I can't think of everything right now, but I'm sure people can add onto it.

http://www.acuranavi.com for update information and lists of locales covered.

It's a great moving map, complete with GPS information if that floats your boat.

It's a great direction mapping device that give turn by turn information on how to arrive at your destination. You can also program several destinations at a time and the system will give you a route to follow to get to all of them.

It's a points of interest database (like a phonebook) that lists names, addresses, and phone numbers of a myriad of things. ATMs, gas stations, and restaurants are icon'ed on the moving map.

It's an LCD interface for the climate control system.

It's interface is also about 3 - 4 years old, so there are better ones currently on the market.

I use mine all the time and I wouldn't (didn't) have the gotten the CL-S without it.

Go from non-navi to navi...

lotta work involved. Luckily I bought someone else's system who already did the conversion so all the hard work was done... (splicing wires, figuring out what wires go where, etc.) If you were to buy everything new it would cost over $2,500 easily. Plus the install cost.

They pop up on eBay every now and then. Or here on A-CL. Get lucky like me and you'll pay a FRACTION of the price it would have cost.

An aftermarket headunit and Navigation would be an easier install than the OEM Navi conversion,

The CL Navi is ok. The interface is a little outdated, but it does what it was designed to do.
Could be more user friendly IMO. It's a good option to have, esp if you're buying a used CL and not paying the $2000 it retailed for. The newer Acura/Honda versions are much better tho.

They're talking about taking a non-Navi CL and turning it into a NAVI CL.

But you can add an aftermarket head unit onto a NAVI car, you just need something to switch between the headunit and the NAVI output. I believe the PIE MPSS-4 will do it for you. It should default to the headunit and when it receives a 12-volt signal from the NAVI then it will switch to that. You'll probably need an amp too though to accept the RCA inputs, and possibly a converter for the NAVI output to the RCA inputs.

Look here: www.abtelectronics.com

Retrofitting to retain the stock look would be nice, but you really can't replicate the whole navi package which includes Onstar. At least without a lot of trouble and expense. You would need to buy a very expensive rear view mirror, antenna, drill holes in the rear of the roof, remove the headliner. I hope I am discouraging you!

Yes, the navi is great, and I actually sold my 03 CLS6 #1 with 11,000 miles to get a navi and a color change.

I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to them because I have a navi, but I did notice at abt that they carry add on navi units, and as far as I can tell, installation is about as difficult as providing power to the unit and slipping a tab from the unit into the cd player slot.

I could be wrong about that. Add on navi unit guys, chip in.

BTW, save that ABT site address. This is a GREAT place to check out any major appliance, chunk of electronics, just click on the blue link next to the picture icon to get dimensions, shipping weight, features, etc. I just bought a clothes washer from these guys that is also a clothes dryer (not an over/under unit), and I love the damn thing.
