it's nice!

saw it in person at the NYC auto show and if they leave it alone in the production model it will rock. nice interior with cool seats, 50/50 weight, RWD, big wheels.. and it has 2 extra "doors" which will hopefully make this classify as a sedan for insurance purposes..

Very nice.
Looks like a little cousin of a Ferrari.
I hope they leave that same brake system on the production version!

No mention of price on this car but if they keep the concept model as the production model I think we are looking at over $40k for this car.

I'm not sure the S2k would stand a chance really.. the rx-8 is supposed to have between 250-280hp and will most likely have a better torque curve then the honda..

some old man that lives next to me has s2k and he has to make a huge racket for it to go anywhere..

that's not so bad I'd rather have a souped up car out of the showroom then after I void my warranty trying to squeeze 4 hp out of it somehow..

It sucks. Just like the new RSX-S, 300Z, 745il, SC430, and A4. They all suck. I hate this new shit. Its fucking depressing.

The new Stratus is the only car with a decent redesign. Its moving up from totally horrible to mediocre.

Im not really fond of my CL-S either, but its acceptable. All these cars are taking styling cues from geo deawoo and saturn.

WTF

First of all i love the car...its fricken aweosme and is gonna be the best performance buy out there. The wankel(rotary) engine is completely sweet and its gonna make 250hp...not alot of torque but im sure the car wont weigh much.

As for you dude....why buy the car if ur not fond of it?
I think the new Stratus is butt ugly.

Ive been in the new SC and the old SC and their is no comparison...the new one kicks its ass.

The RSX-s is gonna have 200 hp....what the hell is worse about it? You could say the struts up front but the handling wont be much worse.

Because it was the least annoying for the price. Fastest, most interior features, and top reliability.

I wrote IT WENT FROM HORRIBLE TO MEDIOCRE. i didnt say i liked it. its just a step in the right direction.

I agree... the SC430 and this new RX8 have awesome interiors, plus some amazing features. The outside styling is what sucks. The RSX is a boring hatchback. Why the hell make a Type-S? There is nothing striking about its exterior.

My problem is with this "more round is better" bullshit. These cars look like some failed design experiments. They all looked better before they redesigned them.

My first impression is positive. I'm not sure I like all of the Mazda styling decisions, but they had to go somewhere new. Everyone in the industry's been ripping off design elements from the G3 RX-7 since it went out of production. The C5 vette in particular stole a ton of design cues from the last gen RX-7. Can't argue with the performance of the rotary motor either...

I have an Automobile mag with the RX-8 in it, if I remember (don't have it with me now) it did 0-60 in 6.1 and had 250 hp but with really low torque (something like 150-180?) The Mazda guy said they are working on making the torque higher. I think the price was around high 20's or low 30's...I'll check later...

Overall, it's a nice car, they copied Saturn with the doors, but that's okay in my book. If they up the torque, add some luxury into the interior a little and keep it in the low 30's, it'll sell.

Yeah, it's expected to be in the low 30s. That's a car I'd definitely look into, but I have to see it in person first. It has an awesome tranny, sequential 6-speed, at least for me, since I have to have auto mode for traffic. I doubt they'll put much luxury into it since it'll be more of a sports car, but it should be fairly decent form what I've read. And the 250HP figure is on a naturally aspirated engine, so with the aftermarket support this car should get it'll be a really nice toy to have.
