What does it cost usually to install springs?
I got a quote from Garage Kwai (chicago, il) for $175.00 .. d'you think i can do better?

sounds like I'm getting ripped off .. what sorts of places can I call .. and who can i trust to do a good job?

I had it done at acura for 80 CDN a hour...it took them 3 hours...they usually charge 4
I had it quoted for 100 CDN to have all 4 done but i didn't want just any place to do it...
Even if you pay more, you will feel better knowing that you went to a place that does it right

these guys I'm taking it to know they're stuff... i'm just frustrated cuz the springs are costing me a couple bills, then the install is close to a couple bills.. then an alignment .. that's like what? $100.00???

i'm perfectly happy with my relatively "cheap" install. i'll take that and pocket the $100 bucks or so for other parts, and still have the confidence that it's done "right."
this isn't something like tires where "you get what you pay for." installation prices vary from place to place, all the way from dealership prices to your friend who has a spring compressor and does it for free. what you pay does not directly correlate with how well the job is done.
