What Do you Think of a 94-96 G20T???

If you could see my sig then you would see that I gave up the CL-S for a F-350 4-door turbo diesel due to towing needs. I'm looking for a luxury 4-banger to go back and forth to work for under $6K. The only one I can think of is the G20. I'm only looking at acura, lexus, infiniti. Acura=integra<undecided about them, Lexus=es300 <6 banger. Anyone ever had a G20T? What your experiances with them?

I've been over to freshalloy.com and g20.net but I want opinions from this site.

P.S. not going to mod this car just need Luxury Econo transportation

For a beater its not a bad car at all. While they are underpowered it will get you to where you need to go and back.

No such thing. If it's econo, it's not luxury. The Infiniti badge brings nothing to a G20. Luxury=excess.

G20s are reliable, trusty transportation that has a lil cult following. For the price a great vehicle to have as a beater.

What about a first gen 4cyl CL?

My friend's mom had a G20...power was non-existant. It didn't look too purdy after an accident either.

Thats a good thought but I think those are more than I want to spend.

Unpowered is not something i'm worried about. To and from work is 98% highway so once your up to speed it doesn't really matter.

I just looked up the NADA value. A 97 2.2 auto w/ Premium package retails for about $8K, I'm sure if you looked around you could pick one up for $6K with a lil bargaining. I picked up my 98 3.0 Premium for $2200K less than the book value (it's in great shape too with new tires).

Once you get up to speed it's not bad, but it still takes hours to get there...lol My buddy has a 4cyl Accord. It's fairly peppy, esp compared to the G20.

WOW thanks I didn't know that they were that low. I just gave the $6K price cause I get all my cars wholesale now so a $6K car is like $2-3K to me. So a 97 2.2CL might be $3-4.5K. Whats the gas mileage for a 2.2CL? hummmmmmmmmmmmmm got some reasearch to do.

I wouldn't limit yourself to the 97 just yet, the 98 got a 2.3 and a few other upgrades. I doubt there is much wholesale $$ differences, but the 97 is still a nice car too. Pop over to the first gen section and check out a few.

My buddy's accord is the 2.3, he consistantly gets 28mpg, and usually zooms around town.

I love my 98 3.0, it's not a CL-S but it's all I can afford at the time being. Soon it will be as fast as one tho.

I justed called my wholesale source about the 2.2/3CL and he said they are coming through for ~ $4.5-7K 97-99 models. So that's more than I want to spend and it will not be worth it unless I pay undar $3.5K. Thanks. What year accord does your friend have? and is it a EX, LX, or DX Stick or auto. What options?
