What do you thing the REAL top speed is?
This question comes to mind because i know about half the members here have hit the governor limiter. which brings the question, if this limiter was removed, how fast do you think we could go?
with only 2 performance mods, i hit the limiter without much trouble at all. in fact the car was pulling so well until the limiter kicked in, and also scared the crap out of me!
lastly, besides what the top speed could be, you think we are drag limited or otherwise?

i voted 160, but it may go a little faster than that

Case in point, I had a 4 speed auto Z28 HO once. It's top speed would be in 3rd gear, around 144 or so. As soon as you shifted in to 4th, it would fall off a bit, around 134-136. Not enough HP to keep pushing it upward.
So I'd bet that we'd fall off around 155 to 160, even though it pulls 'strong' to 140 or so. Just look at some of the top speed tests that are conducted. Some of these cars (Vets and Vipers) hit 100 in 9-11 secs, but top out at 170 to 190.

I think 160 is achievable with all the mods (intake,headers,s/c,exhaust) and limiter disabled. Although, I think the car might be a bit unstable at that speed without some serious aero and suspension mods.

Here is a calculation I did assuming 0.28Cd and 2.5m^2 frontal area:
The car will definitely be drag limited. As you can see, it is physically impossible to travel more than ~160mph without more than ~220whp...

It's really not scary until after 130...then you have to be very careful of what is going on... don't do this when there are other cars on the road or its curving or is bumpy.
With the turbo on... it got to 140+ really quickly so you get there quick and then slow down quick... NA takes longer... so you travel more distance to achieve the same speed.
A top Fuel dragster hits 300+mph in the 1/4-mile... we are in the
low 100's even with 500hp

Hitting the limiter is like hitting a wall. It cuts the fuel 100% for like .5 seconds. It totally drops your speed and jerks the car. I find it's easiest to hit the limiter on a long stretch of highway that is on a downward incline... I think our cars could probably hit just over 160... let's say 162-163 indicated if we had enough room, a slight downgrade, and no limiter...
