ok so i own a 2001 cl type s right, i was just wandering if the 2008 rl 290 hp engine will fit and if so what will i need to do, mounting, ecu, trans and what ever else that might need or not need a modified fit. i know the rl is awd so i hope the trans from my cls will bolt right up. crossing my fingers on this one! oh yeah guys i found this a while back. www.fullonspeed.com.......what you guys think

lol nooo way dude, not even the 3.2 from 3rd gen TLs will match up let alone the 2nd gen RL.

You'll need to do alot of modifications to get that RL motor to fit and to get it running, it just ain't worth it.....You're better off installing a CT s/c

Sounds like you need to do some reading on the CL board. Please see the FAQ there & then search for the things you wish to do. You will get a better idea of what you want to so VS what you can do with your car.

 

might as well put the 3.7 w/ awd in your car while you're at it.. it's even better than the RL 3.5!
