what do I need to beat g35c (in cls 5at)

I need to be faster than my buddies g35c 6 speed.

Will ct headers and an intake get me close? He is a TERRIBLE driver, so I have that going for me.

did a search and didn't really find anything...anyone have any insight?

Well if that's the case, you could probably beat him if he was driving a corvette.

You'll need a lot, as these cars are trapping at 100mph. That's a lot of power you'll have to make.

But him being a shitty driver, you should be able to beat him almost stock. If he borks the launch badly, you'll win.

if Jesus will help me win races, I will reconsider my spirituality

but lets saw we both drive perfectly, I will still lose badly with header/cai correct?

what the hell else makes this car fast other than s/c? I'm going to do full exhaust next but I don't think that will make much of a speed different.

Exhaust won't do much but add flavor to the sound...no magic boost.

Just find some Nitrous...shove that in there...it'll run great.

He'll be in front, but will eventually get run down like a fat kid with asthma.

To keep his lead, I/H.

intake, headers, ur pullies, unichip, thermostat, light weight wheels+ sticky tires. with all that, i think you'd be pretty damn close.

also, anyone know if one of those king big bore throttle bodies would help?

If he's a bad driver you can beat him with I/E/Tires. I raced one at the track. He pulled a 2.4 60' (shitty launch) and ran 14.6 @ 97 MPH. I ran a 2.1 60' and ran a 14.3 @98 MPH. I/H/Tires will leave it all up to the driving.

There is the possibility of another group buy later on. But we gotta get the first one over with first. :o They should ship on June 1st as long as they don't push the date back again

Empty out your car floor mats spair everything you can, if you have headers and cold air you should be good ive had my 0-60 5.6 clocked at 1/4 14.007 and if he's abad driver it will be close i think you could take him though.

Are you an auto? Slips?

A 14.0 would be the fastest N/A CLS auto I've seen here.

I think it would be much cheaper and easier to just sabotage his car somehow.

No argument there.

It takes a lot for the CL to become a really quick car.

Beet, get him to the track and you have a prayer based on my results. You can easily make up .5 secs on lights and another .25 or so on the launch/driving skills.

Most folks who don't race don't take their cars to the limit. So if you're better than average I'd say you have a shoot at beating him.

Nope. i had I/H/P/E/light weight rims auto. It was not as fast as G35C 6mt. Why? i raced my friend's WRX (not stock) when i had my CLS. i lost by about 4 cars length up to 100. and i raced the SAME WRX with G35C 6mt up to 100mph. i only lost by about 1 car length.

i would say unless you get some SC or some NO2 otherwise with normal bolt ons your gonna lose. I KNOW ur friend cant drive then you should win

a 6speed CLS STOCK will NOT beat a stock G35C 6mt considering drivers are equal. (about the same weight, g35c has more HP, ALOT MORE Torq, RWD advantage, better aerodynamic)

but a 6speed CLS with I/H/E/P should be faster than a stock g35c 6mt.

but a 6speed CLS with SC/I/H/E/P vs G35c6mt with i/H/E/P/SC.
then G should walk away from CLS easily.

I/H/E plus pullies and grippy tires, you got your selve a fighting chance, but if you fuck up the launch or one shift you will be seeing some g35c taillights

Just because you raced the guy in his same car twice with two totally different cars doesn't mean your CL-S was slower than your G35C. The conditions were probably different, he could have driven differently, you could have driven differently, etc. Can't really comare those two races and say either car is faster. Too many variables.

______________

True. but when you are using 2 different cars to race the same drivers with the same car, you should be able to feel the difference between these 2 cars.
