i know D5 is for regular driving, but what about D4, and D3 and the others mean??

D5 - Uses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
D4 - Uses 1, 2, 3, 4
D3 - Uses 1, 2, 3
2- Uses only 2
1- Uses only 1

People usually uses D4 and D3 when driving in the city so the car doesn't shift to too low of a gear if you need to accellerate, it won't gear hunt.

The doctor agrees, but thinks a warning about gas mileage is in order. A steady diet of D3 and D4 driving can cause great harm to the pocket book with constant trips to the Evil Oil Companies pumps.
