I rode in my friend's TL (2003 Type-S), and I couldn't believe the difference that 10" 'sub' makes. It sounded 10 times better than mine, much fuller sound with actual bass and low end. Now why couldn't they put that in the CL again...?

 

same reason we didn't get a kit.

 

CL R&D crew were recruited from the deaf action center.

 

They needed the tweeters from the CL, and the sub from the TL to actually produce a decent sound system. problem solved for the TL this year!

 

I listened to a dvd-a disc in teh new tl today. niiice. it will be awesome to hear an actual movie when someone mods there player.

 

i noticed this over a year ago. after driving my TL, and then my dads CL, there was NO bass in the CL, it was awful when compared to my TL

 

Yeah the TL-P even sounds better

 

add a Infininty Basslink in your trunk and it will blow away the TL system. The sub in the TL is trash. The 10in in the basslink is much better.

 

Basslink does rock, I have one.

 

I believe the TL does not have Tweeter on the A-pillar like ours.

 

It's extremely easy to add bass to a system, however it's not so easy to add mid & high clarity. I'll take a stock stereo system with weak bass but great midrange/high over a system with good bass but only marginal mid/high's. My Taurus has pretty decent mids/highs (about the same as the CL-S actually) but it has even less bass. I added a basic sub system in the trunk and now it sounds awesome. It's much easier to just throw a box in the trunk to get some bass rather than add tweeters and replace component speakers to improve clarity.

JMO though.

i am young and had two 12 inch cervin vegas in the old car. with my 02 TL, i never thought it was necessary to add anything. the highs are not bad either.
even my friend who was into audio thought the stock tl system was enough. i didnt know the CL gets such crappy bass though!

The stock TL sub is actually 9", but the CL's mid and high sounds way crisper IMO. The tweeters in the A-pillars make a huge difference.

 

I do really like the highs in the CL (for stock), I was just impressed with the low end in the TL. If I need bass I go to my Accord with 2 JL 12's...
