What did they do to the new Maxima??
I was on Edmunds today (don't really know why), and I came across the preview for the 2002 Maxima.
I really did not think they could make the rear lights any uglier, but oh my. Look at this!!!
FUGLY!!!

The rest of the car is nice, but they have some kind of "fetish" for bug-eye, butt-ugly rear lights.
It was like the Altima -- turning into the "Melt-i-ma"...
They must have those great designers using watercolors for the final body shell pictures. They then have a patented process were they run water over the back part of the picture (for that melt-I-ma look).
The tail light designer is really just a big insect, here is his picture:
And here is the magic morphing sphere (super trackball) used to "melt" the rear of the new Altima and Maxima (aka Meltimas):

damn it appears to me the maxima has everything we have and a little more for less! Navi, HID's, 260hp, and more torque! And it will probably cost a couple grand cheaper. I don't know if we can say we have the best value anymore...but the cl/tl still is a hell of a lot better lookin and has a nicer interior.

it looks aight...somehow i was thinking of a picture of the maxima i saw on here a couple of weeks ago...it was alot fuglier...maybe it was the altima...so f-ing fugly...well, you know what it doesn't have? the acura badge!!!

WELL MY PARENTS JUST NEGIOTIATED THEMSELDES INTO A 2001 MAXIMA SE IN THE GRAY COLOR AND WELL, AS I AM EXCITED FOR THEM, I COULD HAVE HAD THE MAXIMA LAST YEAR WITH EVERYTHING, I MEAN FULLY LOADED SIGN AND DRIVE FOR 450 A MONTH AND I TURNED IT DOWN TO GET THE CL-S. I HAVE HAVE ALREADY OWNED A 89, THEN A 98, AND I WASNT GOIN TO GET A 2001 WHEN THE CL-S WAS MUCH NICER ADN FASTER ADN SWEETER LOOKIN. MY PARENTS ON THE OTHER HAND HAVE BEEN DRIVIN MY 98 MAXIMA SINCE I GAVE THEM T, its just your ordinary maxima se that everyone and there mother has. thats why i didnt get E LEASE AFTER 2 YEARS AND HAVE ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT SINCE THEY HAVE HAD CRAP CARS BEFORE, DECIDED tHEY wanted to get another one and got it for 409 but no leather and bose radio inc tax in NY. not to bad, but this isnt the 260hp cl-s and tl-s soon to be killer, its just the ordinary 225 one that everyone and there mother has. whatever, im happy for my parents but, i didnt want it casue of those fugly lites and overly big grill. yuck, although the stillen kit still makes it look phat as hell.
