I wouldn't think so, I think the are designed to pivot up and down nicely......I do know that turning hard and spinning the tires wears them out faster

CV joints are inside the rubber boots that are attached to each side of your axle. They tend to wear out a little quicker on cars that are lowered because they're constantly running at an angle where the boot has a little stress on it. Usually CV joints last a LONG time, however, CV BOOTS tend to tear. If you drive around on a torn CV boot all the grease gets out and your CV joint goes bad. Ever hear cars that make a ticking noise when they turn? That means that have bad CV joints. I've already replaced on CV boot and I'm only at 23k miles....however, I've had a few drives with my car just skimming off the ground by about 1/2 inche, so that probably did mine it. It took 2 hours and $30 to fix. Hope that info helps.

CV joints are Constant Velocity joints. They connect the transaxle to the axles and the axles to the drive wheels, transferring power while allowing for up and down motion of the suspension.

I'd check other things like tires first.. If it's only when brakes are used it could also be warped rotors. YMMV
