It is a twin turbo after all. That kit adds a K&N drop in filter, ECU upgrade, and a new pipe between the throttle body and twin turbos. Give me a twin turbo and see what numbers I can put out.

You want to see something pathetic, look at this chart. Stage II adds a downpipe and a catback exhaust, and the chart barely moves. It's all in the chip.

go check out www.audiworld.com A group of their members spent some time at an AWD dyno shop and had 3 different cars tested with several different chips. APR, GIAC and one other one I can't remember.

I think the main thing the chip does is just increase the boost. I'm sure it makes some timing and fuel adjustments but lets face it, when your boost increases from 8psi to 16psi, you are gonna make a hell of alot more power.

Dynos like this make me smile. But then reading countless stories about replacing both turbos at 5000 miles makes me sick. Why can't the germans get their reliability together?? Don't they realize they can virtually put the japanese out of business in this country??

I know I hear stories about blown turbos all the time, but is it really that bad. I hope it's one of those things that has been exaggerated, because I really like Audi's cars.

Enjoy that turbo all 5-10k miles it lasts you. Sure, it's cheap power, and lots of it, but the engine can't take it.

I was considering getting an A4 and www.goapr.com 's chip and stuff so I'd have good performance, but then I read about how pathetic the reliability is and I decided to go with an naturally aspirated engine with that kind of power already available stock.

I don't know where you guys keep reading about blown turbo's at, but at www.audioworld.com very few people have blown their turbo's... the common problems I have red about invole $50 parts like the throttle body boot ripping because of a poorly designed clamp (Which has since been fixed), and the bypass valve tearing because of people running double the stock boost. Forge makes an aftermarket bypass valve which solves the latter problem.

Heck, I would say I have seen more people at Acura-CL with actuator problems than I have seen people at www.audiworld.com with turbo problems.

If you listened to all the "urban legends" on the message boards you would think every week someone hydrlocks their engine because of a CAI. The biggest cause of blown turbo's is stupidity, turning the engine off right after a hard run, doesn't give the turbo a chance to cool down properly so it litteraly cooks the oil in the turbo which leads to turbo failures eventually.
