What car would you buy for $30,000????
Lets say that you had ONLY and EXACTLY $30,000 to spend on a car. It can be less but not a penny more (not including the sales tax and other misc. fees), what car/truck would you buy? You would use this year around (rain/snow/sleet/heat).
I personally think I would get a 6-speed Maxima (no flame please, my personal opinion!).
CLS Type S is a little over $30k right? So thats a no no!
What would you pick??
BTW...ONLY MSRP!

MSRP or deals?
Sure you can get a CL Type-S for less than $30k. It is way Better than a Maxima...
I thinh the 6MT CL would be for sure less than $30K ans still kick the ass of 2003 maxima.

I have seent he WRX interior, and I was actually impressed. Its not as nice as the CL-S, but it looks pretty good.

You do realize that you are not buying a BMW. That means you can actually haggle on the price
Last year the CL-S non-navi were selling about $28,500 (including destination). You should be able to do a bit better on a 2001 especially now its August.
Where do you shop
And your going from a M3 to a Maxima? Big disappointment in store for you. Why are you ditching your "well driven" M3??

I would consider the new MB C230 Kompressor. Base price of $24950 (MSRP). That gives you another $5k for options. It comes with a 6-speed also. Reminds me of the 318ti from BMW a few years ago.

Hmmm,
Either an Impreza WRX, Mustang Bullit, 02 Jetta GLX (201hp, 6spd), 03 Mercury Marauder (Summer O2)- that should be under $30k.
Its all over the place, but it would be a good reason to go drive all of them .

I love my cl-s, but my advice would be a little different than the other posts. First of all, I agree, buy a cl-s. You should be able to negotiate for less than 30k. But if you want to rule the streets, take a look at a Camaro SS, six speed. I know I tremble a little bit when I pull up next to one!

Do you deffinetly need brand new? I mean cls slightly used are selling real cheap. I mean there are some that are even on this board already with mods for like 26.
Well, cls non navi could be had for 28,000, plus 7% tax gets you to 30000. This does not include spoiler.
