Get a '95 M3 for about $21k w/ low miles (around 30k). Add $10k for a Stage 3 Active Autowerks turbo kit installed.
Now what do you have?
Power: 430 BHP @ 6850 rpm
Torque: 425 ft/lbs @ 4100 rpm
0 - 60 mph 4.2sec
Top speed 170+ mph
1/4 mile 12.2 sec
Turbo Boost 11psi
And thats just the beginning Get intake, exhaust, chip and your in the 450BHP range. Bring on them Lambos!

They also have a video of a race between a AA M3 vs. some eclipse or something like that.

I don't know what Miami is like, but the Mcoupe is a rare sight in Bawl-mer. My vote:
Mcoupe
Mcoupe
Mcoupe

BTW: I believe 01 Mcoupes are special order only. Might want to start looking now if you are serious.

Ford Focus now if you got the extra cash spring for the ZX3 option you might be able to top out at 95 mph on a downward hill. that has Chick magnet written all over it

If you are just talking about using the money from your insurance company is going to give you , I wonder why people are throwing around new M3 (55 K if you can find one for that ), Mcoupe, SLK 32 AMG , even the S4. These are all upward of 35K . I think even with your mods you are looking at maybe getting 27 or 28 K for your car at the most. but if you are looking in that range then the S4 would be a good choice. I now read that you are also thinking about leasing a new M3, holy shit, if the leases on our cars are running around 400~425, you are probably looking at 800 for the new M3 if not more. definetly not the best option

Ok here is my take ...
S2000 - Interior sucks and you will barely use the high-end in every day driving, not worht the money.
Sedan:
-----------
S4 - Awesome, the chips work well but hard ot find there is no 2002 model and they are not producing any mroe so HURRY.
OR
2002 Maxima with Stillen Upgrades - VERY fast and great stealth factor
Coupe:
-------
2001 M3 - VERY FAST, VERY SWEET, a work of art
Convertible:
------------
M Roadster - This is a 315 HP car that does 5.0 0-60 (it is faster than a M3 convertible and 10k cheaper)

Those numbers were just for the Stage 2.
I'm thinking the Stage 3 probably takes the car into high 11s and 0-60 times into the high 3's range.

Depending on your insurance company I think you'll make out pretty well after your settlement. Hopefully they won't drop you after your CL being keyed and your old accord being stolen as well. I can appreciate the performance of an S4, but their appearance is already looking dated to me. I know a few people with A4s and they're always in the shop. Not to mention their resale value is absolutely terrible. I'd save a little and buy a new M3.

I had a 00 Mcoupe (Imola red/Imola Red-black)....it would make a miserable everyday car IMO (but people use them daily), too small- it was one fun car though, it was hard to top.
But the S4 is nice, just a tad dated for my liking....I would get an A6 2.7T or a 4.2Q over the S4.
