Wet traction problem

Don't know if it's the tires, or the lightweight SSR comp rims. I get no traction when starting out in 1st when the roads are wet. Anything more then a light launch results in wheel spin, & hoping. Then if I hit the 1-2 & 3-4 shifts hard I skid all over the place. The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport all seasons. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? I want Toyo T1 tires but need to wear the Michelins down first.

Wheel hop common on this car with a hard launch.

Pilot Sport A/S is not Pilot Sport summer, Toyo T1S, S03... Stickier tire may be helpful, so would dryer pavement.

ease the car into first better. Stickier tires won't help much in the rain as most are made for dry traction and suck in the rain.

My new Nitto 555's spin like a bi+ch in the rain but are sticky as h=ll on the dry...

I will tell you I had slightly less traction on all season tires when I had some lightweight wheels (under 17lbs for 18's), but not nearly as bad as with these tires and some 19lb wheels...

It is your rims. Please remove and send them to me ASAP.

I know what you mean I got the Gt1's lightweight wheels own, Unless it's wet out. Then wheels spin sucks. When it's mildly wet out, my tires start to spin at 5k in 1st gear. You just need to know you can't really gas it.

cl-s will never have good off the line traction in the rain, no matter what tires. add some leaves or snow and you can fuggetaboutit.
