Went To The Track Again

I went to the track again now, with the temperature being 50-55 degrees. the track just opened up (Greatlakes dragway) and my friends and i went.
well my last best time was;
14.80 @94.5mph with it being 80 degrees at 28 psi tires

now i went again today and got a 14.64 @ 94.5. It was 50-55 degrees with the same psi on the front tires.

i don't get it, last time my 60ft was around 2.2, now it was 2.3-2.4.

i want a turbo kit. but i think my car is a factory geek. not a freak but a GEEK!!

i want a turbo but i think im done modding this car up. its not worth it to spend all this money and bump up my time .4 seconds.
i should get an EVO or STi or something.

what you all think????

everyone is running low 14's with my mods. so its not good. im almost a half second behind. i know i wont be able to run low 14's because my car was feeling good last night, but if my take off was good, i would be at about 14.5 maybe 14.4 at best. but i don't think the track was preped right.

The times are not that bad man. You're running just about what's right for your trap speed. Mind you, your trap speed is kinda low!

What altitude is the track at? That can make a big difference on something (air density I believe) and significantly decrease performance, which could explain your low trap speed.

An intake/header CLS-5 should be about as quick as an intake-only CLS-6. And for comparison, I ran a 14.39 @ 96.9mph with my Icebox, stock tires and 2.3 60'.

I really think the reason your ET is 14.6 is because of the MPH which is down 2-3 from where it should be (97-98). And a possible explanation would be the altitude, or the non-functionality of your actuator.

You're right about not dumping any more money to mod your car. After doing intake/headers and a pulley, you don't have much choice left - you need FI of some sort, or nitrous.

When I was running mid 14's, I was trapping at 94-95 mph. So those times look about right. I didn't trap at 98 mph until I hit a 13.9 with a 2.1 60'.

I know we're talking about 2 different cars here, but your numbers look about right to me. I feel your pain when it comes to spending money and not running the times you had expected.
