And I think I am going to sell it, I got a good deal on it but the thought of losing the tranny at any moment, ruins it for me. I just sold my 99 sts couse of resale value was dropping and it was starting to have problems I dont want to be in the same boat again, as much as I love the car, oh well maybe ill try to find a 98 or newer sc400.

drive it like you stole it--if the tranny shits the bed before 100 (mine's good till105) then you'll get a rebuilt one. This is a very well known and embarrassing moment for Honda/Acura and they've gone a long way to remedy the problem it caused.

I don't think you should get rid of it.
BTW that ticking noise is normal. It is a solenoid. Can't remember what it is for, but it is around the firewall somewhere. I have an 01 Type S too and took it in one day and they pulled it in the maintenance bay beside an 03 on both made the same noise. A lot of newer cars do that. I even heard it in my bosses wifes S430.
