Weird Trans sh*t
I noticed (esp last couple of days) when i am coasting all of a sudden it feels like the trans pulls down real hard...like in a stick when you downshift to far. Kinda freaky. But, as soon as i tap the gas pedal it seems to go away. Is this normal?

yea that's normal, speeking of tran's, my friend is a service manager at an Acura dealer. He said there is talk of a major CL/TL tran's recall? I told him mine has been fine even though I only have 1,000 on my ride. Anyone else heard of this? we all know the trans really suck

That's exactly what it feels like!! I tap on the gas cuz it kinda feels like the engine got cut. So it is normal. Thank the lord.
I wouldn't be surprised about a recall because it seems like this problem is getting to be more that just a few vehicles. Let's see what happens.

Uh woah! You need to get more information on this issue. Can you get the phone number and maybe call this service manager???

If you go from a stop but don't get over like 20mph and let off the gas, the "torque converter" or whatever will grab real hard. It sucks. Just the way it is. Just always get up over 20mph before you let off the gas.

"Grade Logic"...I couldn't think of the correct Acura/Honda term last night.....look in some Acura/Honda literature, it'll explain it - it's supposed to stop the hunting of the gears going up or down hills.

BTW, LoseIt, like i said beofre, I think my car does the same thing yours does (and has ever since I owned it), however, it is hard to tell is it the same problem because I dont know how quickly your car slows once you pull off the gas. My car hardly slows down, just enough that I can feel it.

Yeah, it really is supposed to do this. I think a few bad transmissions are starting to get people paranoid about them all being bad and now we're all looking for "signs" that they are going. Until mine stops working..I am not going to even think about it anymore (what's the worst that happens anyway..call roadside assistance, get a laoner, get a new trans and Acura pays for it all, no big deal)

A few? More than 2% is not a few and the problem has been in '01 and '02 CL(S)/TLS. Nobody ever said they were all bad but Acura hasn't come out and said anything about. People are on their 3rd transimission. I worry about when the warranty runs out. I"m not paying for something acura should've addressed in the first place.
