ok guys..this is what happened to me yesterday..i was driving along, and i came to a red light. i was kinda bored so i decided to gun it when the light turned green..i was in tip-tronics at the time..so i go, and 1-2 gear, i get a "kick" you all know what i mean..i have had that before..then 2-3 i get the same thing..now here is the weird part..i slow down, and i'm comming to a stop sign..i brake, and i notice i have to break rather hard..harder then i usally do..so i ignore it, and i break..i see my REVS at a complete stop are at about 3000..(and no my foot wasn't on the gas..) so i was like what the fuck! i put it in neutral, and it goes back up to 3000 rpm..so i was like uhhh.i gased it again, to like 4500, and then it went back down to normal...any ideas on what the fuck just happend?! did my trans slip?!

Take it in to the dealer and tell them what happened.

Maybey the ECU f'd up and thought the engine needed a lot more power then id did to run the stuff on the car(Radio, and all that). That is the only reason i would see for it to run at a constant rpm. Im guessin that the dealer would replace the ECU

good thing i haven't installed that sound system in this car yet too then they woulda probably tried to blame it on that...

 

opps forgot to mention..that i am 90% sure they are going to give me the "we can't duplicate the problem excuse.." and all they are going to do is turn on the car, drive around the block..and thats all...not even open her up and check to see if something is wrong..

 

throttle body got stuck??

 

Its probably a random thing, I mean our cars are so complicated today they have sooooo many electronics... it might have just goofed up and reset itself.

 

damn now i'm all scared to drive it cuz i sat in it and drove around the block, and maybe it was just me, but i think it was like harder to make it stop moving..anyways...do me a favor and tell me what your car idles at..when you turn it on and it's cold, and also when it's been on for a while..next time you get a chance
