I just started hearing this hissing noise when I lay off the clutch or gas. Its kind of like a blowoff valve, when I release my foot off of the gas, I hear this hissing noise, and I have no idea where it could be coming from. I hope its not my tranny or clutch. I admit, I have been riding the clutch alot when shifting to get a smoother shift and not jolt forward. But I'm still learning how to drive it b/c it's my first manual car. I've only had the car 4 weeks, so I doubt I ruined the clutch/tranny already. If anyone can PLEASE help me find out what this noise is, and if somethings wrong I would greatly appreciate it. I installed the Comptech Strut Bar yesterday and had to detach some wires from the stock bar, but I don't think that would have caused this noise.

Is the hissing noise comming when you Rev it up to like 5k rpm and let it drop down to 2-3k rpm? If it is then its normal...
How loud is it?
Is it short like a blowoff valve sound or does it last for a while like 2-3 seconds?

 

I don't even need to be at 5k Rpm for it to happen. Its whenever I give gas and lay off the pedal. I could be at 2k Rpm or lower and it will happen. Its so weirdd....I have never heard of anything like this before...
