every since i got my second tranny in, my car engine brakes at all the wrong times. for example, i'm slowing down while applying brakes, engine downshifts and makes me lurch forward. happens when i'm just decel w/o brakes. it never did this to me before the tranny swap. anyone else notice this? before, it would just downshift at the very end, now it progressively downshifts to engine brake and is quite more noticable.

Mine does the same thing. It feels like it's downshifting into 3rd a lot sooner that you would normally. I asked the dealer about it and they said it's normal. They told me that all CL autos do that, even without the tranny replacement. i just noticed it more after it was done.

 

idk what they did, but my car isn't the same as before. makes the car more unpredictable when i'm braking. this is retarded.

 

It’s called “Grade Logic” and it’s the main reason I sold my Slushbox AUTO and bought a 6-Speed manual back in 2002.
It drove me NUTS.

My wife’s RAV4 does it too, but not as bad as the Acura did.
Just another reason why I hate Auto Tranny’s.
