weird clicking sound when I drive off
I have been hearing this weird clicking sound when I drive off usually after I shift to second and press the gas. I also hear it if I am cruising slowing and hit the gas. I sounds as if something lose slides back and forth when I press the gas suddenly. I have tried looking under the car but haven't noticed anything. I noticed a few weeks ago after I shipped my car cross country.
i have a clicking noise also i think its behind the dash but i also can hear my valves. so i kinda need to do both. but what could be causing this? the tac? its not the speedometer since it does it sitting still? any body know?

I don't know what is a levelling sound...I shift into 1st or reverse and as soon as I drive off I get a click and then I shift and click again. It seems to occur when the car lurches one click for each forward or reverse shift in the weight of the car. I have since checked my CV joints and brakes.
k this may sound really weird and it only happened once... i had a clicking coming from the underneath of the car by the fuel tank. I'm guessing something fuel related, but there was a ticking and it was annoying enough that I was gonna drive to Acura right then and have it diagnosed. I got on my knees and looked under the car and could see where the ticking was coming from (some black box thingy with a hose or 2 coming into/out of it) anyways, i gave it a wack with my fist a couple times, and u could hear the ticking change. Got back in the car FLOORED it from 0-60 and then got to my destination, stopped and checked it out, and noise gone, never been back since.
So, it may not be engine related if you say it's between the front and rear wheels, maybe it's in that area??
just a thought
you say the click hapends when the car leans one way or the other? I had this issue also, it was a bad sway bar link. I replaced them all with Moog and it's quiet now, and much stiffer in the turns.
the oem links are POS, absolute trash if u compare them to the Moogs.
Or u just may be lacking grease in an area throughout the suspension. probably one of the two

Mine recently started making a thud during initial acceleration after sitting a while or after a semi abrubt stop. I am gussing a Control arm bushing, hopefully I can diagnose this weekend. I have been wanting to replace all my bushings with Polyurethane for a while, so maybe nows the time to buy a bar of it and start machining some. I will post up what it is when I figure it out for sure.
Finally got this problem solved. I had found a thread on here also recommending a check of my suspension when the suspension connected behind the front wheels and I found nothing loose. I took it to the stealership and using a lift they found my suspension was loose and corroded (my car has spent most of its life in NY with snow and salt). I didn't speak to the mechanic directly but I was told that he used some WD40 and then tightened the suspension. The problem is gone and the suspension actually feels better, or maybe thats in my mind. Hope this helps someone.
