Weight Reductions?

Ok guys what can we do for some weight reductions? I know the obvious. Lose the stock rims, battery, spare tire. Anything else And don't say the interior, I know that is like 2-300 lbs, but I don't want to do away with my leather seats. Any other trick stuff. Our car is too heavy, 1000lbs more than a M3, granted that is a different class of cars all together. Too bad we're not in Japan. I've seen carbon fiber trunk lids, that a puny Japanese kid could lift w/one hand as well as an exhaust pipe w/muffler that you could lift with one hand as well. Oh well..

What is with honda/acura? They make heavy cars. I guess they figure they will just out engine everyone. But the preludes weighed like 4200lbs which if you you comper it with say a 240SX , a close competitor(which looks a lot bigger) it only weighs 2900lbs. I guess the NSX is the only lightweight car they have decided to build and gee its only $90,000. But seriously imagine our car at 3600 lbs, we would have so much better handling and not to mention accel. probably 5.9-6.1 0-60 range stock.

4365 to be exact, not counting 1-200lbs driver weight. We're looking at 4500+lbs. And that probably is not even with a full tank of gas.

Not according to everything I've read, including the Acura web site. And I SERIOUSLY doubt the prelude weighs 4200 lbs. Maybe 3200-3400.

Better have your shit together before you call someone names, smartass. 4365 lbs on the CL-S is the GVWR. Gross vehicle weight rating. The maximum weight of the car, cargo, passengers, and fuel. Sort of like, max takeoff weight for a plane. The CAR doesn't weigh 4365 by itself.

Maybe I'am talking about max load, my apologies...
But explain this M3 curb weight 3415 right? 0-60 somewhere around 5.0. Our car 3600lbs 0-60 6.5? How does this work out?

I believe the current M3 has around 340hp, 6 speed manual, and very short gears. Makes all the difference.

There is that nice crash protection ... there is always going to be a trade-off between buyers craving safety over raw performance.

Perhaps one more letter request CL-RL (Racing/lightened)

Don't forget that loss of weight on rotating object (tires, wheels and brake rotors for example) will help far more than just losing static weight. (Yeah, old news at this point)...

They should make like a CL type-R or something in the 50,000 range. Something to compete w/ the vettes, M3's, Cobras,S4, Boxster type-s. Yes i know i did put the boxster in there too its close in price.

Yeah i've seen that debate static vs rotational. But back to the original question any other weight loss tricks?

Why is it I say something wrong everyone chimes in, but ask a question and no one speaks. Thank you EricL for your help with the question.
