The warranty should be all the way up to the 50,000 mile mark. I don't think there should be any argument for it @ all.

Your warranty is 4yrs/50. Since you purchased the car in 05/2001 the warranty expired based on the year in 05/2005. Since you are only a month over warranty the dealer can call Acura and pleasd your case and may let you slide and cover the repair. Talk to the dealer and see what they will do for you, and if that doesn't work contact Acura Customer Service to see if you can talk them into covering the repair.

The same thing happened to me 1 month after I bought the car. It took the Acura dealership 6 weeks to find it and fix it. It turned out to be a short in the wiring that runs under the drivers side seat.

I am telling you this to hopefully save you some grief...or at least time. Plead hard for a warranty repair...they had to tear my entire front part of my car apart to find the problem. The mechanic thought it was a combination of a minor design flaw with a workmanship issue from the factory. The wire will rub on the mechanism if it was not pulled in the right way during installation and take the insulation off.

I had my whole driverseat replaced with 49,000 miles on the car so they should be able to fix your minor seat problem.
