My local acura dealership just informed me that if i put in a supercharger in my car, the warrenty will automatically be voided regargardless of what part of the car is failing. Even if the failing is not due to the supercharger. For, example, the service manager told me that if i put in the supercharger the tranny warrenty will be voided. Then i asked him, well dont you guys have to provide me proof that the tranny failed because of the supercharger. And they said no. Its written in the warrenty that they dont have to prove anything if the supercharger is in the vehicle but for other mods such as headers of cai, they have to prove. Thats not making sense to me. Anyone wants to expand on this situation. And for everyone out there, is there any dealerships thats still willing to take care of a tls with a supercharger in it. Preferably around the philly, nj and baltimore areas. thank you

For everyone with supercharger in their cls or tls. How are you guys dealing with this warrenty issue. And has anyone of you taken your cars to the dealership to get anything repaired and did they honor the warrenty. Also how likely is it for the tranny to fail with the supercharger. Thanks

If the Tranny is going to fail, it probably will fail with or without the s/c. Also I talked to PAA about this same issue. The response I got was "you'll be fine because Acura has to prove the s/c caused the failure which we are unable to do because Acura will not let us open up a failed tranny to investigate"

Perhaps you better go to Acura of Pleasanton. They did all my mods (CT i/sc/h/bp/e/strutbar/springs/sways/...). They have assured me that there are NO warranty issues with all the mods they've installed. However, the mods aren't part of the Acura warranty but are covered by CT's warranty on the parts.

There are warranty laws that make their plight very specific & 9/10 times the burden is on the dealership. Talk to a lawyer or research warranty acts on the net.

Either way FIX YOUR DAMN AVATAR.

Thank you & come again.

the magnusson moss act provides that the dealer /auto manufacuter must prove that the mod in question is the cause of the said failure...that said the blower could not be blamed for a blown strut...for a tranny...hummm...maybe...however with there signifigant rate of failure in non blown cars you would be in and out of court in 5 minutes with the dealer covering your new tranny under warranty...you might mention to this service advisor he should become fimilair with the law re: after market moddifications before he starts spouting false statements

The manager is full of baloney. Start with the advice above.

However, without going higher up in the dealership, you might end up needing a different/better dealer.

And, if you plan on using the all of the S/C's power, you will probably put significant strain on the tranny.

The most flawed part of the manager's argument concerns the S/C vs. headers + CAI.

Find somewhere else to go for service -- if you can. If not, the MM act will give you "some" protection -- to a degree. Ask yourself this question: Do you really have the time and money to get a lawyer or head to small claims court if something happens to the tranny?

YMMV
