warped roters...
warped roters...
has neone else have the same problem in the past???
recently i noticed a vibration in the brake pedal when i braked over 65mph
i took it into the dealership today and they told me that the roters were warped and that they would have to machine them
i remember other people posting about this issue and i was wondering if there existed upgrades or replacements with stronger roters...
thanx~~

Personally, I NEVER turn rotors, just replace them completely. Removing mass just makes them thinner (less of a heat sink) and they will usually just warp worse than before, requiring replacement anyway. Of course, if the dealer is paying for it, go ahead. KVR blanks are excellent in my experience. Don't know if they are available for the CL-S. If you also want to look into www.frozenrotors.com , you may be able to replace rotors ONCE and not worry about them again. Breaking in new pads/rotors properly is EXTREMELY important however!
An important preventative measure is to invest in a good torque wrench and then use it everytime the wheels come off the car. Air guns & mechanics aren't perfect and the lug nuts should be re-torqued to factory specs a couple of days after the shop puts 'em back on anyway. Many warping problems can be completely prevented that way

i've had the car since feb. and have about 13,000 miles on it. i also started to notice a slight vibration when braking from 65~75 mph. is it time to change the pads (or rotors). i drive conservatively most of the time.
I've had the same warpage problem - 3 times (saw Smokey while over 120mph).
Like the man said, NEVER turn 'em. OEM roters are minimum thickness already. Replace them. If the dealer gives you static, ask for the number of Acura National Service Center. Beef at them, and you will get noticed. Just be reasonable.
BTW, replace the pads to solve the problem. If you don't the warpage will come back.
