M5 Lite

Given to the state of S. Carolina as a good will gesture when the South Carolina BMW plant opened up, an E34 M5. Still in service from what I hear.

Specs:
3.8L, 340HP, 295lb-ft in-line 6
6-Speed Manual
Nurburgring & Adaptive-M suspension
345mm floating front rotors
///M5 badging and sill-plates

Another Auto company (one of the ones with U.S. plants) tried to do something similar and were turned down.

I thought m5's of that generation had 310 hp and 266 lb/ft of torque in U.S. emissions trim... the second one looks like a 91-93 m5 to me. the first one looks more like a regular 5 series.

Just wondering why you post here? You do not own a CL at least you don't appear to own one. Did you have one in the past or something. I see you have over 2000 posts. I just think it's strange.

I dont think you have to have a CL to be a member here. M5 lite has actualy been pretty helpful and provided me some good informations. I am glad that he is here and am sure that others would feel the same way.

so. car. is using supercharged cobras? and they're actually using vipers as pursuit vehicles? (I mean, really, the hood alone is like a $10,000 replacement part...)

To Jason and all others who ask this question:

M5Lite has been a valued member of this car community for as long as most of the OG members. He has 2000 informative, non PW posts here because he adds to this forum. I don't belive you meant any ill-will by your post, but remember - this is CAR TALK - not CL OWNERS ONLY TALK. We as a community are bettered when non-CL owners who respectfully add to our community post here. I, for one, am bored sometimes hearing the same stuff about the CLS. M5Lite brings a welcomed and refreshing viewpoint.

So - give him some credit. He's pretty cool.

And yes, I don't have a CLS. I was looking to purchase a CLS after selling my M3, but that was a while ago. I came to this board to 'check out' the car. People here are pretty cool (even with some *unique* mentally challenged people , you know who you are! Don't be shy, raise your hand! ).

TankMonkey, I was thinking the same thing regarding the first pic, but I'm not too sure about it. I just got what I found on another website. For them to know, and us to find out.

He also has some really annoying "check this out about my M3/M5" posts that led to me writing a post questioning why he bothers posting those types of posts around here when he would be better off posting them at DTMPower or another BMW board where people actually give a damn about those type of posts.

That said, I too find some of his posts useful and he is pretty friendly, if a little annoying sometimes (aren't we all?).
