On my way to work this morning i walked an 03 CL600 Benz. I was on the phone with my girl (she hates it when i race) so i put the phone on mute when i realized i was next to a 3rdGenPrelude on my right and an 03 CL600(sport) to my left. The dude in the Prelude was pretty humble as if he knew he had no chance. And the dude in the Benz had his one hand on the wheel BLASTING music knowing he was gonna crush me , i didnt have to look or rev i knew we all were gonna gun it. To make a long story short Light turns green and he immediately gains a half of car length 2nd gear hits and i even up with him til 3rd where in mid gear i pull a half on him and before 4th i had a whole car length before my exit where i had to merge doin around 85-90 something. During the whole race the prelude stayed behind the whole time....Sorry lude i love yal but i guess he was in the wrong league.

Ill race anything just to see how i hold up! I've raced a CL(somethin)amg before and lost by like a car length so i knew i could handle the SPORT version. I was actually proud of my car to beat a 60+ thousand dollar car!!!

my installs: WR intake, XS headers, Evo2 exhaust, Random tech high flow cat, Megan Coil overs.

nice kill...but u sure he was pushing it all the way? whats the numbers on that car? Then again, you do have plenty of bolt on mods.

I think he has like 360 or so give or take. I was thinking the same thing about if he was relaly pushing it but his car was screamin for relief!

you sure it was an '03? That was the 1st year for the 493hp twin turbo V12. I'm thinking it was probably an '01-02. They have 362 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque with their 5.8L V12. The '02 also has a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds so that sounds a little more realistic with your mods. By the way, either CL600 would run around $80-90k starting price.

Well it wasnt V12 not AMG so which ever Cl that is....It was hard to determine which one just from lookin at it because it is so many made. But it was pretty fast, but not DUMB fast like the V12 would be.

I don't see this happening personally unless it was an older model but good kill either way.

The bigger motor cars tend to haul ass at the upper rpms sometimes.

Well whatever it was it costs WAYYYYY more than my car and if i lost to a CL6 with a 55thou and up Benz id be HIGHLY upset!!!!!

Yep, I think everyone's right, it must have been older than an 03 because 03+ CL600's are super car fast. Nearly 500 hp and we all know MB under rates their HP #s. Here's some interesting times I found, especially the 0-150MPH numbers. It beats some sick cars!!!

Like i said i wasnt completely sure but i thought it might have been the 600.I thinks it sthe 500! OH WELL :-)...Still shouldn't have received an ass whoppin!

I havent put my car on the dyno yet...does anyone know what i am pushin the the crank with th xs header,wr intake, random tec flow, and evo ii's? ...coil overs help speed as well.

Definitely an old school V12 CL600 if that is the case, they are powerful yet also heavy. 4300lbs for the pre '03 and 4600lbs for the old square 1999 style. The 1999 also had the 389hp/420tq 6.0L. The 03+ S600,CL600, and SL600 all run at least 12's in the quarter.

Haha that hilarious and stupid...much better to have a 4 door sedan like the '03+ S600 (same v12, 500hp) that you can debadge and looks pretty much stock S class. I used to have a 1997 C280 and debadged it so people wouldn't know it was such a weak ass engine! No, the inline 6 was nice though.
