i missed a down shift once, went from 5th to second. I was going about 60, so nothing too shity would have happened. As i was letting out the clutch i head the engine start screaming, so my insticnts made me put the clutch back in. It only reved to 4k, disaster averted. The guy in the video let the clutch all the way out and just looked at, What a fool.

he down shifted when he should have up shifted, it was the tranny that made the engine spin that fast, not the throttle.

How would a rev limiter stop the engine from spinning that fast when it is mechanicaly connected to the tranny and wheels which are spinning much faster? Sure it was cutting fuel and timing but the engine was forced to spin that fast, pressing the clutch back in is the only remedy.
